OFFICIAL NFL OFFSZN THREAD 2023-24: CMC snagged the Madden Cover

They're basically giving Siranni one last chance, he's gonna help choose the staff

if he brings in good coordinators to prop him up, wanna know what happens with good coordinators?

gannon wasn’t even a good coordinator and he got a HC job

They'd be coming off a season where a team wants to hire your coordinators

Disagree on Gannon. He was a good coordinator and did a good job his first year AZ, all things considered.

The problem for Gannon and anyone in that scheme is the philosophy of it

If you have the talent to rush 4, you do that to allow the extra guy in coverage and cover the middle area of the field

With the proficiencies in modern passing games if they know you’re rushing 5 every down and playing off to prevent big plays they have no problems taking the free yardage over and over again

That’s why the scheme only worked vs subpar QBs.. and even vs subpar QBs his main adjustment was to go more man coverage

I mean that defense played a major part in y'all getting to the Superbowl. Pat Mahomes makes everyone look garbage. Every scheme has it's faults, no matter how good it is. Cut Gannon some slack

nah... the efficiency of the offense is why we made it to the Super Bowl and the impact it had on how teams had to play offense

our offense forced teams into desperation situations because we were able to adapt and basically squeeze.. the offense in most games removed the option of dinking and dunking all game long.. and subpar QBs inevitable would screw up

but as long as a QB was smart enough about things, they would be ok.. we literally had an absurd streak of completions vs our defense when we played the cowboys and saints simply because you had vet QBs who took what was there and the DC didn’t adjust

As a texans fan, I counted 6-7 that EYE personally like and EYE believe help keep the texans growing. Hopefully casario doesnt resign any bums or guys that we could live without. id like to build through the draft while picking up a few FAs here there to fill the gaps
Ditto. I feel like Rankins could be brought back reasonably. It may cost too much to try to bring back both Cashman and Greenard. Both those guys may end up being massively overpaid on another team.

cool...but rude cool...but rude dwileykyot dwileykyot

You keep blaming the coaching staff when you should be blaming the GM

Had a bright idea to draft multiple players from the same college
Didn’t replace the players you lost with as good or better players
Should have been more involved in the hiring of new coordinators

because it’s not hard to see how talent is being underutilized or misused on both sides of the ball

kelee ringo is a perfect example of this, he was our best outside CB when allowed to play in that role which only happened after slay got hurt and in spite of bradberry’s clear struggles.. and when slay came back, ringo went to the bench and not bradberry

also isn’t hard to see the clear ramifications of constantly dropping reddick and sweat into coverage had on the remainder of the dline

but nakobe dean’s inability to stay healthy creates a clear obligation to address LB

Josh Allen had a great all-purpose game when you add in rushing, but 186 yards on 26 completions.

Just on the last drive....

Sneed has a pick if Mcfluffie doesn't inadvertently take it away from him.

Kincaid saves Allen from a turnover by recovering his fumble.

Goes for the homerun and under throws his receiver even though he had Diggs right in front of him for an easy first down.

Makes another terrible play on 3rd down following that.

Allen was terrible on that last drive. People keep harping on Diggs' drop which was bad but they had the ball for a while 5+ minutes after that and couldn't score. Tired of the excuses for this dude.
