OFFICIAL NFL PLAYOFF THREAD 2024-2025: Vol: WE BYKE

Mike Tomlin has gone on record as saying running the football is and always will be the Steelers identity but man trying to force the run game early on got them behind early and gave bmore all the momentum. The moment the Steelers started going deep, they got competitive again. It's time to change that offensive philosophy movie forward. Get Russ some weapons and come out blazing next year.

I don't think Russ is gonna be back tbh

Will say their struggles this season weren't down to him but think they might go a younger direction

Congrats on rooting for a team that’s not yours in the playoffs. What is this, the 5th year in a row?

I don't think Russ is the problem TBH. Outside the 65% effort you get from Pickens, the offense lacks weapons or talent. Najee Harris has to get 25 carries to break 100 yards.

This receiving core was terrible after they traded away Dtae to the panthers. Roman Wilson was supposed to be the 2nd guy but got hurt in pre-season

Fields wasn’t saving this team and neither was Russ. All rhythm was lost when Pickens went down with his injury. This team has deep rooted issues that start with the Rooney ownership. They took way too long to move on from Ben (who ran the team like a quasi owner himself), some will say the same thing can be said about Tomlin but I personally disagree. They’ve never hired great coordinators. Who was the last offensive or defensive coordinator to get plucked from Tomlin to be a head coach? Bruce Arians? They consistently hire older guys with experience because that’s what Tomlin prefers. There’s no reason Arthur smith should’ve been hired less than a month after he was let go by Atlanta. Steelers haven’t had a complete o-line since 2018 or so. They’ve been drafting the position with failure YoY since then. Winning in the regular season masks all this, but there needs to be change from the Rooney family in order to find ways to get back to winning SB’s. Either relinquish creative control from Tomlin and allow Omar Kahn to do his job, or let Tomlin go and start from from zero
