Official NT dad thread: can the dads get love

havent keep up with the thread too much since me and my wife lost our twins back in August. But today is a big day for us and I thought i would share an update with you guys.

Not sure if many of you recall but we lost our twins due to pre-term labor 8 months ago to the day and its been a hard road back to normalcy but we have held our ground.

We found out in Jan that she was pregnant again. And to our surprise, on her second doctor visit after it was already confirmed we were having a singleton, we found out we were actually having twins again.

This has sent us thru so many different emotions and confusion. But here we are in the 2nd trimester and having a procedure today that should prevent what happened the last time and make sure our babies stay nice and comfy for the the full ride. We are seeing a high risk doctor and taking a number of precautionary measures to make sure we dont suffer another tragedy.

We havent told many people this time around and we probably wont do any type of announcement or baby shower. Suffering that loss has taken so much joy from us that I dont think we will ever not be on edge until they are born and are healthy.

Im looking forward to updating you guys with good news as the pregnancy moves forward.

Congrats fam

Man, my wife is 37 weeks this Friday and she's been struggling bad to keep it together past few days. It's hard not really being able to do much to help. :\
Same exact boat. This is my wife's first full term pregnancy so she is practically miserable at times. Wish this baby would come on so I can enjoy these 4 months of paid paternity leave

Our due date is may 6. And my girl has trouble sleeping also, cause I snore. Lol.

Ours is May 3.

Oh, and thanks for putting my daughter on Daniel Tiger she was going to sleep on it but now she dances when the songs spark up

All jokes aside I kinda want my son to be a nerd. I was lightweight a savage and I don't want that for him. :\

Bro I feel you on this. Ima try to steer my son in the right direction. smh

Much respect to you guys who are teaching your son's respect like that. I always pray my wife and I raise our daughter to be smart but I know exactly how slick guys can be.

Me and my lady vowed to keep it uncomfortably real with our daughter. We both were brought up the same way and we turned out good.

In about 17 years yall better keep ya daughters locked up in the house. SneakerPro Jr gonna be out here snatching them up. :lol

Not w/ that hairline he won't be :lol

But seriously, I feel the same way w/ my son. Crazy thing is, people don't really realize how much of a factor having both parents who are both educated and living in a decent neighborhood w/ good schools plays on the development of a child. When I was growing up, we was tryna get the yambs as young as 7 tryna play house and stuff :lol

I'm fightin to make sure that both of my children grow up in a better environment than I did, but not to take anything for granted.

i need to find balance in giving everything my daughter needs, but not everything she wants....

My daughter is only 3 months and me and my wife have already had that talk, that its basically on us to show her what a healty relationship should look like. Even more so me..by showing her how a man should treat a woman, by how she sees me treat her mother.

Congrats on the great news. Positive vibes your way to you and the family. Can't wait for more good updates.

Our due date is may 6. And my girl has trouble sleeping also, cause I snore. Lol.

Ours is June 9 and I snore too. Sometimes I debate on sleeping on the couch so she can get some good sleep. I know I'll probably do a sleep study soon to see how bad my snoring is and to see what else I can do to fix it. Been hitting the gym to lose weight which I know will help some though. I don't want my snoring waking up the baby either.

Anyone have kids born around the same date? If so, how do you handle the birthdays? We're expecting our second almost exactly 3 years after the first but I'm not sure if having a single party will be a good or bad idea.

ha, funny you should ask my daughter was born 8/18/08 my son 8/19/13. For the last few years we find places the both can invite a few friends and both have a blast. Then usually have something small at home for family. I'm sure it will become more difficult as they grow older

My son can sleep through anything. I'm a modern day snorlax. I got lucky with my first. I heard the second will probably be the opposite.

Man I know I'll be screwed. My girls bday is 5/29 and our daughter is due 6/9 on top of that may is Mother's Day and her moms bday is 5/21 [emoji]128580[/emoji] I'm not to worried about that.

@Ace Rawstein

I can't believe my son is turning 2 tomorrow

I feel like I was just in this thread talking about how we were going into labor in a couple hours

Time flies, so fast :{

I've always wondered how'd it be to have bdays around the holidays. If it was for my kid(s), I'm all for treating it like a completely separate event. But I know it may not always be the best time for other people.

I know it's all about quality > quantitty when it comes to guests, but I'm going by the assumption that you have to invite all the other kids in your kids class, word to suburban life :lol

Found out my daughter prefers to sleep on her stomach with her legs tucked under. Slept for over 6 hours and I felt soooo energized in the mornings now.

It's so awesome.

My son is born 5-6-14
My daughters expected date is 5-6-16

How I see it, 2 gifts, 1 party. $$ saved

hey so what were some stressful experiences?
Waking up in the middle of the night to change and feed her.

Accepting the fact that all your decisions have to factor in my daughter.

Being spit up on, constantly.

Not being able to complete any of the tasks that you written down for the day, because they become completely irrelevant.

Accepting the fact that you won't have as much time for your hobbies as you used to have.

Daughter will be 6 months, next Saturday. All the things I've complained about above, it's all worth it.

Sometimes I feel like I'm taking a shower in spit up

My older one spit up a lot when she was a baby and her sister is following suit

Wasn't happy that I had to change my work shirt this morning before leaving on a day where I had to drop both off at daycare
