I think this this thread may be beneficial but we need some rules

1. Don't ask anyone to blatantly do your homework for you.

2. The purpose of this thread is to provide helpful links for research, give explanations on certain topics, etc.


That being said, can someone school me on Electrocardiograms. I'm lost.

Fam, its the same thing. I used to work in the medical industry. EKG is the term that we use instead of electrocardiogram.

Its function? You want to get the rhythm of the person's heartbeat. You want to look for any irregularities in the rhythm (outliers in thepattern). If there are any irregularities in the heartbeat, the patient will need further testing to determine the severity of the problem.

you look for irregularties in the PQRST wave. back then you had people who looked through 1000s of catalogs for classify a pattern but today computers do allthe work.

I don't even need help interpreting it. There are vectors I have to set up and calculate with the leads.

2 ways to determine the vector.
1. look for the isoelectric lead and go 90 deg from there in the direction that is most positive
or 2. look for the lead with the most positive amplitude

Thanks bro. I'm usually good at picking up new concepts by visualizing the big picture and making connections but electro-physics has alwaysseemed abstract to me.
