***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Manchin makes me long for the days when you just tarred and feathered politicians you didn't like instead of waiting to vote them out
One of my favorite stories from St. Lucian politics (which is really wild and petty) is that one time in the early 90s the government was negotiating to privatize the healthcare industry. Which would make hospital bills skyrocket. The main dude pushing it was s flippant as hell, telling people if they can't afford their bills they need to work hard and get another job.

One dude that had his daughter in the hospital for cancer found the politician watching his son play in a football match one Saturday morning. Mans pulled over, broke off a branch from a guava tree, and flogged mans in front of his whole family and the whole neighborhood.

Thing is, as the beating went on, it got worse because as all the leaves that were softening the blows flew off, pops was swinging the branch-like Sammy Sosa on the finest PEDs a shady trainer had to offer.

Everyone just watched the beating, no one stepped in. Dude ended up in the hospital, and of course, the jokes started about the bills.

It was a warning for everyone in government. That this ain't America, or the UK, you can't hide in gated communities. You live among us so if you make our quality of life worse, we will do the same to you.

30 years later, St. Lucia still has nationalized healthcare.

Best believe, if all these centrists had to live among the people they are screwing over, face them after making their lives worse, they would have a different kind of energy.

Cute joke coming from you

Especially since for the past 4 years every time a white bigot or a sexual predator did something vile, you were happily like...

That story gives new meaning to the phrase "legislative branch."

I will always be a fervent believer in non-violence, but somehow I doubt this will achieve the same results:

I don't understand how small island people can go on as if we all don't know who you are, who your family is, where you are at most times, where you went to school, what your close friends call you, every goddamn thing that gives us access to you virtually whenever we want.

I firmly believe these republican candidates are out to do their best to become the next “thing” on snl

No, they see the MTGs and Lauren GEDs of the world just spouting nonsense and "telling it like it is" and they think that's the ticket. That works in rural Georgia and Colorado, not AOC's district. Also, Ms. GED probably won't win re-election as her district is being redrawn. She's free to run in another district in Colorado, but I've read she's kind of screwed in the one she represents now.

So, does this mean this jabroni Manchin is on board?

If so, why TF does he keep doing this.
