***Official Political Discussion Thread***

So by that logic, people who you deem "evil" deserve to die?

Are you looking for attention or something?
I have been pretty clear about what I'm looking for playa.

Could someone quote paulwest1985 paulwest1985 posts in here from June when those Minnesota lawmakers got killed in their homes

I missed them

Oh you’re that kind of troll. Yeah I think you are a Dwalk alt.
Who's trolling? I simply asked you to point to any statements ive made defending Charlie? My initial point was about not celebrating the deaths of your political opponents. Those are 2 completely different things 🤦🏾

Instead of celebrating, We can post some of Charlie's thoughts in his memory to hope better serve his legacy as we move forward

This is the way. Like no need to dance on his grave. But there’s a cvs sized receipt going back years of stuff he’s said. Stuff he believed in and was proud of. Makes all the sense in the world to post all those quotes in his memory.

I no way did I agree with his ideology, but people really celebrating this have issues. He leaves behind a wife and two kids. In no way shape or form is it ok to kill someone for their ideology.

R.I.P.
Whats up with yall minimizing being a white supremacist nazi who said the civil rights act was a mistake as just a "ideology"

I completely agree

On a.macro level, for society, this is very bad. The normalizing of political violence is a terrible place for a country to be stuck in.

And people should not lose sight on that

I just take issue with the Democrat hating dudes trying to lecture people about not feeling sorry for Charlie Kirk being dead. Because they are using this situation to grab the moral high ground in bad faith

The same way you had people in here talking about how liberals should stop calling out Trump authoritarian aspirations because they and they alone are fanning the flames. Ignoring Trump's own actions

I don't think people should celebrate Kirk's death. But I also think using his death as a vehicle to lecture liberals is bad faith nonsense.

Charlie Kirk didn't care about political violence when it was happening to left wing people. So I think people shouldn't act like him. But I also think that makes him a very unsympathetic victim. These people acting in bad faith are insulting people's intelligence by acting like they can't understand why many people don't feel bad for him specifically.

don't get me wrong, i think the scolding of the left or democrats is totally disingenuous and should be ignored.

Im just more concerned with how bad things are getting,

America has elected a would be facist with an army of sycophants who will justify literally any action, he tried to the coup the government.

republican party is now willing to back a personalist regime of corrupt self dealing. he's got his own masked police force. They laughed when democrats were assassinated.

now people are getting assassinated, possible justifying further escalation from the admin.

things just are getting super scary.

Racism and other forms of bigotry are just simple 'differences of opinion' for certain folks despite the fact that those who tend to share those views use said views to actively attempt to make life worse for others.

While clutching pearls over precedents already long set in the country as if the right has ever once required any excuse or justification to look to oppress minorities :lol

Just look no further than the direction the discouse is taking on that side without any ID or anything on the culprit yet...

Then you are apart of the problem 🤷🏾

Celebrating a political assassination definitely contributes to the problem of normalizing escalating violence. And, consequently, contributes to a more dangerous society.

Allowing your own political biases to dictate when you decide to be a champion of peace does nothing to deescalate. If you truly believed your morality lectures, you'd be in here every time there is a political assassination. As Rusty points out, you are not.

It's clear that you cynically time your deployment of sanctimonious pearl clutching to the times it will most cause grief on this thread betrays your lack of conviction on the issue. I cannot say whether it's morally worse to exploit a murder for trolling on a sneaker forum than it is to become numb to political violence. But I can tell you which is more pathetic.
