***Official Political Discussion Thread***

At the end of the day, you just have to weather the ******* storm. Yeah, it sucks watching the Supreme Court hand Trump one victory after another, but unless this ************ somehow stays in power forever, a lot of this is going to end up being a double edged sword.

The path he's helping pave can swing both ways. He can stack agencies and departments with all his loyalists and yes men, but the moment he's gone and if Democrats take power, every single one of those ************* can be shown the door. Every. Single. One.

And if I were them, I'd already be laying the groundwork right now. Not just to reverse what was done, but to put policies and structures in place that can't be so easily dismantled the next time power changes hands.

Social distancing….wild choice of music. Kash Patel’s girl doesn’t an original they can sing? Nicki appeared on stage with him and they couldn’t throw her a bag? I’m sure she would’ve brought out more people just for the free show.

The ruling should have been 9 - 0.

What a freaking joke. They'll just keep twisting and reinterpreting things till they get the results they want.

We better hope none of the good judges die within the next two years.

This is the truly scary part that we don’t want to confront. This court is taking 9-0 decisions and turning them into 5-4 nail biters using intellectually dishonest and morally bankrupt reasoning. These cases are so easy to decide on the merits and precedent that you don’t need a JD to understand what should happen. This court wants people to believe that they are grappling with legally ambiguous cases but they are taking cases that the lower court’s rightfully decide and make it up as they go.

As a lawyer myself I want to say without any doubt that just because a person is on the Supreme Court doesn’t make them better, smarter or more capable than the lower court’s judges that they invalidate their decisions.

Funny how mr. "Colorbind Clarence Thomas" all of a sudden seems to think the constitution DOES factor in race, how convenient. He grossly leverages the perspective that the 14th amendment was intended towards free blacks and nobody else?, since when?

Also convenient that Thomas, a staunch originalist leverages language not even in the original amendment "domiciled" to make his incoherent argument....

I actually like Thomas more than most but this is nonsensical, even for him.

This ruling is a confirmation of what we already know...

The Supreme Court is now a political body and should be regulated as such.......Legal theory has always been intertwined, but it's now taken a back seat.

“In blow to democrats………. Trans athletes……”

lol, love how that narrative flows that direction all the time.

should of been shot down when the initial challenge was brought to light. Why it necessitated legitimate debate is an issue. I big one.

Which again, the headlines are not telling the story. Majority of Republican representatives were out to strip the rights of citizens based on cherry-picking “ambiguous” words.

Kiros likely to beat my congresswoman DeGette. Sad for her to go out like that but the ageism is a real thing in this party. Diane was a stone cold progressive and has been that way her entire career. Kiros essentially sent out a mailer of their differences and it was less than 4 items. I hope for the best for Kiros and voted for her but I wish Diane would’ve just retired.

Who’s to say they won’t just reverse everything if a Democrat president tries the same thing? They’ve already been reversing decisions that the Supreme Court already decided in the past. Watch them magically find their morals again if a Democrat president tries to executive order his way to clean this @&$@ up and put people in jail.
