I know she's been wanting to do a lot of hard dark edgy rock type songs for a good minute
but the end results aren't impressing me much [i.e. the middle of the album]

I'm not a fan at all, and this is a very solid effort. Actually shows some artistic growth. The old Rihanna could never put out an album of mainly balladsand midtempos. Less corny stuff on this than her last efforts.

There are quite a few potential number 1's on here as well. I think this will do well
