not a fan of gag tattoo's but this one is pretty good
What are your guys thoughts on having a full arm sleeve with two different themes?
Right now I have a half sleeve with the koi fish/maple leaves/etc. and I've been thinking of getting my fore arm wrapped with something dedicated towards my faith (Jesus, angel). Thoughts on having two different themes?
Also, has anyone heard of Lowrider Tattoos in Fountain Valley, CA? My sister got a tattoo done their and I was blown away with the quality. Looked on their website and it looks like great stuff.
Saw this on Tumblr somewhere. Thought it was pretty cool, what do you guys think?
I think that is common. More common is people just getting tons of random tattoos everywhere, let alone different sleeves. It's hard to stay consistant with tattoos. The people that do probably just have the money to get a huge one straight off the bat and stop after that. The people that have that itch will just get tattoos all the time untill they are covered. I think it is fine.
And Lowrider is where Jun Cha started. They are super legit in the industry but more poplular in LA cause of their style. My cousin worked under someone there too.
I'm no expert. The art looks great. My only problem with a tattoo like that is it just seems so heavy on ink and shading. I'm sure that's what they were going for and some of it has to do with it being new but IMO they tend to look worse more quickly down the road.
I have a friend that has his upper arm with the same type of dark work, it was incredible when he got it 5-6 years ago and he's obsessive, takes care of it, barely goes in the sun anyway and it's nowhere near as sharp now. Maybe it's the ink or artist but he has a bunch of others (sleeves now) from the same artist, they're either not as heavily shaded, in color, more lines, etc and all of those look really good. It's kind of a shame.
Thoughts?
IMO it would look odd. Two very distinct "themes" will look weird I think. For example, traditional Japanese on your upper arm then traditional type tattoos on your forearm. Might look odd. It depends what you have now and what you want. I think my upper arm looks weird being black and white and my forearm is traditional. It only works since I added roses to my upper arm design and the black and grey kinda trickle down to my forearm (well, in the future when I get around to getting it done) to make a gray background around all the stuff I have on my forearm.I think that is common.
