Arizona is so god damned Jeckle and Hyde I honestly don't even know what to think about this game.

DRC is hurt but not really hurt. (?)
Boldin is hurt but hes always hurt.
Campbell has a broken finger the last I heard.

Woodson re-injured his shoulder but should play.

Rodgers is out to prove something in his first playoff game, and i think he does it. 31-27 Packers.

Oh and some lulz... Rodgers lurking in the background...

From AZCentral.com:

Playoff games are stuffed with importance. This one feels ready to burst.

The Cardinals fear a quick knockout, one that lays their season to waste, mocking them as one-hit wonders. The Packers fear the Brett Favre Purple Sunset Super Bowl, and would do anything to outlast their nemesis.

APWhisenhunt is not a fan of Mike McCarthy and the Packers these days.

And if things go really wrong, Sunday's showdown in Glendale could be the last game Kurt Warner plays before announcing his retirement. None of us is ready for that.

The outcome of this game will provide answers to the NFL's latest dilemma. From the moment the 14-0 Colts passed on a chance at immortality, the league has been hearing from angry fans who don't want to see teams fretting over their own safety and playing half-hearted football. It makes for bad television.

In Week 17, the Cardinals rested key players and were flogged like deckhands. The Packers went full bore and crowed like gladiators. Ken Whisenhunt took significant heat for exposing Anquan Boldin, and for allowing Larry Fitzgerald to pursue personal statistics. Mike McCarthy was hailed for keeping his hot team in tune, a team that had been left for dead after losing both regular-season games against Favre this season.

You can almost hear how the turn of events has angered Whisenhunt.

From Sunday's postgame news conference, when Whisenhunt chafed at the merciless beating, and what occurred after he hung the white flag:

"They had their plan," Whisenhunt said. "I guess they felt good about what they were doing."

Maybe there was a little something more to why Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald found himself on the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday's meaningless game vs. the Green Bay Packers.

Fitzgerald expressed surprise that was the case earlier in the week, but coach Ken Whisenhunt put it in perspective on Tuesday, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.

"Well, Larry wanted the touchdown and he wanted 100 receptions," Whisenhunt said. "That was something that was important to him. That's the competitive side of Larry."

Fair enough, and it make sense after Fitzgerald had at least pleaded ignorance as to why he was in the game.

"Coach didn't ask me to come out of the game,'' Fitzgerald said. "That's my job to play ball until he tells me to come out. You got to be committed to the cause."
He caught a touchdown pass from third quarterback Brian St. Pierre in the fourth quarter to give him 13, a single-season career high. Fitzgerald, however, caught just three balls in the game and fell three short of triple-digits for the season at 97.

Hes mad that the Packers kept their starters in til the 3rd Q but hehad the best WR in the league playing in the 4th to get 100 grabs on the year, even after Boldin went down with a sprained ankle??? I thought Wiz was betterthan that.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt tried to be cautious in his team's regular-season finale to protect his players from injury. Instead, he had two important players on the sideline with injuries from the game when the Cardinals went back to work on Wednesday.

A third was limited with a broken thumb.

Three-time Pro Bowl receiver Anquan Boldin did not practice because of a sprained left ankle and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, a Pro Bowler in his second season, was out with a bruised left kneecap.

Defensive end Calais Campbell practiced on a limited basis after breaking his left thumb.

All three injuries occurred in last Sunday's 33-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers, the team the Cardinals host in a wild-card playoff game on Sunday.

Boldin is important, but the Cardinals are 5-1 without him the past two years, including a 33-13 playoff win at Carolina last season.

Rodgers-Cromartie is crucial as the team's "cover" cornerback. He leads Arizona with six interceptions.

Rodgers-Cromartie said he needs at least some practice to prepare for the high-powered passing game of the Packers.

"If I ain't going to practice tomorrow, then I'm not going to play," he said.

Rodgers-Cromartie, hurt on the third play of Sunday's game when he landed on a receiver's cleats, said he can run forward. The pain comes when he plants the leg and tries to cut.

"It's a day to day thing," he said. "It ain't getting no better, it ain't getting no worse."

Boldin, who surpassed 1,000 yards receiving for a franchise-record fifth time, stayed in last Sunday's game into the second half to try to give support to struggling backup quarterback Matt Leinart. Boldin limped off the field in the third quarter.

Campbell, the towering defensive lineman, played into the fourth quarter, when he hurt his thumb.

"These guys are working hard," Whisenhunt said. "Any time you know that it's a playoff game, guys want to play. That certainly is a good thing, but once again, we'll see."

Rodgers-Cromartie's backup is 5-foot-8 Michael Adams, who had problems after he came in the game on Sunday.

Wide receiver Steve Breaston, who has 55 catches for 712 yards and three touchdowns, is prepared for his role to change if Boldin can't play. It wouldn't be the first time.

"Experience helps a lot going into certain situations where you're basically thrown in there," Breaston said. "I've been here when Larry (Fitzgerald) and Anquan were hurt. People had to play a bigger role in the offense. The biggest thing now is to just prepare myself like I'm going to play that position."

If Breaston moves into Boldin's spot, that would mean Early Doucet would become the third receiver, with Jerheme Urban also available.

"Anytime one of your best players and your leaders isn't on the football field it's tough because you know the effort he gives every week," quarterback Kurt Warner said. "You know what you can expect from him and there's always a question mark when you have to have somebody else step in for those kinds of guys."

If Boldin is out, the All-Pro Fitzgerald would get even more attention from the Packers' defense.

"If I were to be a betting man, knowing Q and his toughness, I know he's going to give it a go," Fitzgerald said. "I don't know if he's 100 percent or whatever, but I just know he's going to want to go out there and play. He's worked too hard. We've been through some really bleak years around here. To have the opportunity to play in the playoffs, I know it means a lot to him. It means a lot to all of us."

WOW!

...

I agree with the Jenkle and Hyde thing, you never know what you're gonna get with the Cards. All I know is they won't let what happened last weekhappen again.

Should be a very interesting game.

BTW, Clay Matthews is now a Pro Bowler

Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster, the league announced today. Matthews replaces Bears LB Lance Briggs.

A 6-foot-3, 250-pound rookie, Matthews becomes the first Packers rookie to earn a Pro Bowl selection since WR James Lofton in 1978.

Matthews saw action in all 16 games, including 13 starts, and finished the season with 58 tackles, a franchise rookie-record 10 sacks, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, six passes defensed and a defensive touchdown.

He is the fourth Packers player to be named to the team, joining S Nick Collins, QB Aaron Rodgers and CB Charles Woodson.

This should be a great game and I do not care who wins. One of those where I just sit back and really enjoy.

Yeah, down to the wire great game. The teams are evenly matched on paper. We'll see if both show up.

If the nfl is anything like the nba, they already have packers/vikings lined up for next week so they can get all those viewers.

true.

(puts money on green bay)

no idea what to think of this game either, it sure wont be easy!!

hoping pack prevail

For as high of a percentage of the public who are on the Packers, there is no way the Cardinals lose.

So is Boldin playing?

This game should be a shootout, last one to have posession wins.

I hate the Cardinals, I hope they get beat but this seems like a spot where the Cardinals thrive

Even if Boldin cannot play, Early Doucet has played well in relief.

Lets go Cards.
