Depending on health of Nash and Kobe but this team looks like a 6th or 7th seed. SRS.

:lol times have change bro, how the mighty have fallen.

While im not happy with a 6th or 7th seed ill gladly take that over attempting to lose 60 games so we can get some aau kid who rarely lives up to expectations.

I think we got a shot for 5th though, we should have a better start than last year and 1 surprise team from last year will probly drop a spot or 2.

:{

:lol

Im sorry CP i cant get with the tank program and i have zero faith in these aau franchise players coming down the pipeline, just let me live on my small island alone. Youve already convinced 95% of the fanbase the lottery is a wealth of cant miss prospects who'll lead us right back to prominence again.

Let me live bro, let me live.

6th or 7th seed? Some of you guys are quite optimistic. Better chance of missing the playoffs than anything else.

Possibly

But think of all the complications and injuries we had and still managed a seventh seed, i just think/hope we'll get off to a better start and theres usually a surprise team from the prior year that falls back down to earth so we'll probly need that to happen also.

Yeah but I still don't think D'Antoni is the right fit for this group of players and their defense is considerably worse. They certainly aren't going to be a scoring juggernaut, and I don't expect any of SA, OKC, Houston, Golden State, the Clippers or the Grizzlies to "fall back down to earth". I mean those teams have huge odds to finish with a better record than the Lakers.

Even if Bryant started the season at 100% I would have a hard time believing they would finish ahead of any of those teams. Now consider that Bryant won't return until later in the season and will have to play his way back into shape..

Hopefully Nash can show more than last year too...

I'm w/ MJSaver. I've already braced myself for the difficulty of seeing you guys revel in losses this season and condemn victories when I'm going to be pissed at losses and proud as hell over Ws. :\

We blow out the Thunder one game
me: HECK yeah! Wish we could play like this every night, but I'll take it tonight. :smokin
'tankers': NOOOO! Welp, kiss Wiggins good bye. :{

Get killed by the Bobcats
me: man... >:
'tankers': Yeah, boy! Need more games like this to fulfill the plan. :D

No, what it "should" be like is.....

Try to win every, single, game. But, in the event that our talent is not deep enough, rather than people coming in here bashing the FO, Kobe, Nash is old, Pau sucks, our bench is bums, etc....

People come in, ok, this Kelly kid looks ok, maybe he can be useful next year. Sacre looks a little better. Nash looks ok, I hope someone will take a flier on him. So in so is hurt for ____ maybe we can flip Kaman to them.

Instead of everyone and their emotions, folks take this year to analyze the team, not piss and moan like all the other years I been here watchin. :{

Lord knows we don't want an AAU guy, like KG, Kobe, McGrady, LeBron, Melo, Dwight, Rose, Davis, etc. Absolutely need to avoid those guys, go for those nice 4 year college kids from Duke that are 23 with zero room to grow. :hat

oh, I can definitely dig the 'silver linings' mentality, find the positive in a win or loss, no doubt.

just reading through the comments, though, I can already see that there are people like "I want 0-82! :smokin Leggo!"

and I'm not with that in the slightest way.

I look at it this way, if we have a squad that's capable of competing for a championship, then I'm good with trying to win. But when it's nowhere near that level, and it's ok in my opinion to try and position yourself for a great draft pick in a loaded draft such as the one coming up. If it was this past year's draft then fine, but this could be one of those '03, '96 type talent pools that don't come along very often. Nothing worse than being in basketball purgatory, which I fear with Bean seemingly ahead of schedule, is where we'll end up being this season.

What we all gotta ask ourselves is what record will give us what exact pick??

Does anyone no? ...like what does the record have to be to get in the lottery? What does the record
have to be to get into the 11-20 pick range??

I think this will give a bit more clarity on what the FO is thinking with this roster. We all no we ain't winning
anything but the Lakers with this roster isn't capable of losing enough to get in the lottery nor do they want to.
I think the FO has already scouted where they will most likely be in the draft and signed free agents according.
I think we could get into the 15-20 picks ...the question is who can we draft around that number??....

I have a strange feeling that Pau is gonna be gone sometime this year ...either for Rondo or to move up
in the draft

i dont know how familiar you guy's are with the the 2013 highschool class but the talent will goes well into the teens......

as does the international talent and the 2-3 guy's who have breakout years.....

to put things in perspective marcus smart woulda been the the number 1 pick in this years draft , he'll most likely go between

6-10 if has a year like he had last year

Don't know why Sacre being on our team for 3 years bothers anyone.

He's as cheap as a 12th man can be, and he isn't as bad as people wanna think he is.

He doesn't impact our ability to sign players in 2014 AT ALL...NOT ONE BIT.

So why even fuss? Don't get it man.

Exactly. Sacre costs literally NOTHING.

An empty roster spot costs 500k. We have Sacre at 400k as Essential has said multiple times.

Why would anyone want an empty spot rather than a 7 footer under the age of 25?

Some of you all concern me. :lol

Well minus well have a empty spot cause he ain't good and he won't play a lot

Somebody make a pdf of guidelines re with all this salary, cap space and **** so people will understand :lol

CP ain't saying we should tank he's just saying.... :lol

I'm kinda with you though.

This is how I'm starting to think. You don't want to end up like one these teams winning teams 40 - 45 games losing in the first round for 5 or 6 years.

There really isn't a right or wrong way to handle this upcoming season, we won't know what was the right choice until 2 or 3 years from now. Especially with free agency coming up.

plus he will have some nice theatrics planned for the eventual nick young miscues

Why is sacre even still a topic of discussion? He's getting 400k to be the 12/13 man on the roster. As it's been said PLENTY of times the last couple of pages, his contract situation doesn't hurt this team AT ALL.

Get over it
