Jordan Hill, who missed most of 2012-13 due to a hip injury, spoke with Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni and the forward asked him what he needed to improve to get more minutes for the upcoming season.
"My jump shot -- he definitely wanted me to work on my outside jumper,” Hill told Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com. “We got Pau Gasol that can focus on the paint and we got Chris Kaman that can focus on the block. So I just want to be a stretch 4. Just try to spread the floor a little bit, just show a little range. I’ve been working on it the whole summer, trying to focus on that, on my 3-ball."
Hill has not been a good shooter from long range and last season he made 30.8 percent from 15-19 feet. Hill lives in Atlanta during the offseason and he's been working out with teammate Jodie Meeks, who is a good shooter.
Hill will come to training camp completely healthy, which is a good start for him and he should get plenty of time whether he can hit shots or not because he is the best forward off the bench currently on the roster.
