OG XVI Dissection

I decided to dissect my OG ginger XVIs for the zoom air units to put in my Flight clubs.

(This is what I found inside near the ankle area, some sort of rubber covering a ring of foam)

(the First zoom air unit, I kind of punctured it)

(The end result of the dissection of the first shoe)

(the second shoe went a little more smoothly)

(Since I punctured one of the zoom air units I decided to use the double stacked zoom air from the XX2 as a replacement)

(I also thought about making my flight clubs double stack zoom air in the heel)
(I kind of just taped the zoom air units to the insole and put the insole back in the shoe. If there's a better method PLEASE let me know)

I couldn't remove the sock liner completely to get to the blow molded air in the back

The whole process took me about 2 hours maybe a little less.

Oh I used this box cutting knife and it broke half-way through the second shoe.
I also used a pair of sharp cloth cutting scissors( not pictured)


I tried on the flight clubs and they feel a little weird, you can really feel the bumps where the new zoom air units are. So if there is ANOTHER way of puttingthe zoom air in PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I'm going to try hooping in my flight clubs tomorrow, and I'll post an update.

Dude taped them on. Looks like a big waste to me. Buying some Dr.Scholls > cutting up some gingers for that reason....

I'm not gonna lie, my flight clubs felt so comfortable tonight on court and performed even better. You guys is just a bunch of haters, the tape held upfine, no sliding what so ever.

Honestly the gingers were actually 10 times worse in person, the white was actually a brownish color and the ginger had a lot of dark stain spots that youcan't seen on the pic.

^Word, i understand what you did, but why didn't you use your Ginger's for Basketball?
Or dissect a different shoe and get the Zoom from there and export them into your Ginger's?

There were far better options than destroying a pair of Ginger's...the Zoom Air Unit was not worth it.
The tape will eventually wear out fam, try using some super glue or something more firm and dependable than Scotch Tape.

Personally, I don't care if OP obliterated his gingers because they're his and his alone. Just was interested in seeing the dissection...let OP destroyhis shoes if he wants.
