I’m bout to turn 50 and been battling a mean ingrown toenail the past 2 months. My doctor had me wearing some wide-***, Ronald McDonald shoes the whole time.

My toe is finally starting to recover, but now I’m finding that all my Jordans are killing my feet! I tried 1’s 3’s 4’s 5’s 7’s 11’s and 12’s. I never had issues before, but now they’re all painful on the top of my big toe and the side of the nail.

I’m trying to push through the pain, but the dr says he may have to remove a nail if I don’t switch back to the clown shoes.

Any other old heads dealing with foot issues? I don’t want it to end like this!

Thing many dont want to hear is we are wearing shoes much smaller than what we should be wearing.
On average most could afford to go up at least half size to accommodate toe spacers and arch support for proper foot health.
We dont want to hear that until older age hang nails bunions and or toes playing pickaboo with each other ontop of other health related issues as result of wearing snug shoes.
What does that mean for the current collection? May have to let them go and starting fresh go with pairs half size or more up.
Does it suck?
Absolutely
Yet it is whats best for our health and that is far more important than cramming feet into pointed shoes to look cool for crease reduction.
Never over just a healthier way moving forward.

I hear you man. I don’t care much about creases, but being a size 13 means jumping all the way up to 14. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

Had ingrown problems 20 yrs ago and for real losing weight helped knock it out. Wearing flip flops too and letting them toes breathe. Lost over 80lbs and haven't had it since 2000s

You should try on some Jordans 30 or 33 for an hour or two...after that all your other J's will feel roomy!

On a more serious note, if you absolutely wanna wear some J's and have any 16's or 25 (2010) on hand, in my experience they are more roomy in the toe area and might offer some options until your toe gets better.

Get well man!

Never give up never give in. It was4 years ago around this time i had to make a tough decision. I had to amputate all the toes on my left foot. It was that or my whole foot. “A space heated caused the damage”. Heck i even lost my vision after being released from surgery about a month later. With all that said i still go hard for all my favorite realeses. What ever you gotta do to fix the pain i recommend doing. Even at the monent im fight hard for a kidney pancreas transplant. This is a great community with solid members. If you have a passion for this keep on collecting and wearing your favorite kicks. You only live once as far as we know.

I’m flat feet. I’ve had tendinitis in of my feet around the ankle area. It’s clipped for me as far as a lot of Nike basketball stuff so it’s mostly been 3’s for me. Jordan brand kicks like the Tatum 3 and Luka 4 work for me.

Pray you get that transplant brother. I joke around a lot but we are all united through our love of kicks, it's nice to be surrounded by those who are willing to discuss frivolous things like speckle density or tongue thickness. In the grand scheme they are just shoes but they truly bring us all together. I will keep you in my prayers brother, God has came through for me so many times and I'm hoping to have this be the case for you as well.

I remember the air max 95's gave me an ingrown toenail and I legit had to get surgery to remove em because how bad it got. Luckily that was the only time I ever had an ingrown toenail. After that, learned my lesson to make sure to half size up in those.

This happens eventually at some point. When I was younger my dad used to say Nikes are narrow and would eventually hurt your feet. I'm 43 going on 44 and the thought has crossed my mind that ALL my **** might have to go one day. If so, so be it. Pain isn't worth it.

Buy a decent priced pair of XII" and get them a half size bigger.
Another option is the XV a half size bigger.
I've always found those two lines very roomy and not at all confining.

49 going on 50 next month. The way you lace shoes can affect its width.
Let me try to explain:
First pair of lace holes at the toe-end of the shoe are laced like normal.
Next pair of lace holes above that, I do not lace across. The lace goes under and up through the hole on the same side. Then on the next holes you can lace across like normal.

I lace almost all of my kicks (3's come to mind) this way. It's barely noticeable from an appearance standpoint and definitely gives my pinky toe a little room. Maybe not for 11''s. Makes your laces seem a little longer, too, which I don't mind.

I do this also if it feels tight along the top of your foot. You could also just skip laces holes. Hope something works.

Also try shoe stretchers. I got one on ebay for $20. It helps a little, and they have attachments that help target areas, like the pinky or big toe.

certain j's i cant rock no mo. like 4s. terrible support. they make me walk awkwardly and i cramp. so 4s are out for me. more for yall

I been done gave up on J's.

I got two pairs of air monarchs at the crib dead stock. Looking forward to busting them bad boys out.
Have you considered New Balance? They're on trend and come in multiple widths. Nothing wrong with Monarchs, though.

Let that **** heal and get back to wearing what you want. I'm over 50 and got mad arthritis (sub-talar arthrodesis surgery in both feet many years ago). Most comfy J's for my old aching feet are 10's and 13's but I can wear others as well..

Jordans are still fairly comfortable for me. But I'm only 32.

Doesn't compare to newer tech basketball shoes/New Balances/etc, but I can still make a 8 hour shift on feet with them depending the model.
