Got mine for this exact reason (casual). I’m not fast enough to even attempt using them for their intended purpose.

Does anyone here have any insight on how narrow the Hoka Speedgoat 4 & evo are? Everything I read seems to emphasize that being a negative. I am aware they offer a few colors in WIDE, but the colors are fairly basic. I’ve had Clifton 3 & 6, plus Rincon 2. Those aren’t roomy, but I’ve never had any issues.

Take them for a run - the Speed is a great all around shoe. I got the Icons for casual, but have a couple other pairs to run in.

If you fit in the Rincon and D width Cliftons, you'll probably fit in the Speedgoat fine. Not sure about the Evo though.

The speedgoat 4s are wider than the speedgoat 3s by a smidge. The cliftons feel the same width as the 4s on foot (just compared mine), but the cliftons have a more forgiving upper. The Speedgoat has overlays for protection that restrict stretch and breathability somewhat.

Since were on the trail running subject - What's a good east coast technical trail shoe? I'm looking for something for Spartan Races and for trail runs.

Had the Asics FUJI RUNNEGADE and the Nike Wildhorse but both were meh. See these speedgoats but have some questions on stability.

My ankles are made of paper mache so looking for the right stable and supportive shoes.

Thanks for the responses. My cliftons fit fine (no hot spots), but I tried the 7’s in a standard, and a wide, but didn’t notice a difference. Ended up sending them back since I didn’t care for how the upper fit. Ordered a pair of Brooks Catamounts, and sent those back, too. The toe box felt shallow, and the cushioning was too firm. That’s why I’m leaning back to getting the Speedgoats.

NB RC Elite 2

Really impressed with the execution of the mismatching. This cw has me SOLD! I’m glad I didn’t scoop up the original RC Elite. Of all the A1 road racer colorways, I think NB has the best looking one with this Purple cw.

While all the buzz is around the new NB RC Elite 2, I'm more excited for the upcoming Asics Metaspeed Sky. I like the simplicity of the design and colorway. I hope their midsole would be softer.

Just placed the order for the Metaspeed Sky. I really enjoy running in Glideride. The color blocking is on the point too. Can't wait.
