Fellas, I read posts on here all the time, but I don't normally get involved.  I like a lot of what everyone on here has to say, so I'm coming to you guys for help.  I have a date coming up in a few weeks, we are going to see Wicked in Cincinnati.  I've never really taken a girl to this nice of a date, so I'm not sure what to wear to the theatre.  This isn't a movie date...  I still want to look fresh, what do you all think would be appropriate?  Thanks guys

it doesn't matter what you wear, you'll get the best %!*+!+$* of your life after the play.

real talk though: I'd wear a suit.

Suit, tie, and DRESS SHOES, no sneakers, no matter how cool you think you'll look.

Anything else, and you'll look like a goof.
Edit: And yes, you'll get the best bj of your life after the play.

- button down with a cardigan or sweater OR button down with blazer OR just a button down
- dress pants or nice denim
- dress shoes

You dont have to wear a suit, it may be a bit too much.

First off, welcome to NT.
Secondly, dress shoes at a play? This ain't an opera. It's Wicked, ain't nothing upscale like that.
I'd go with the cardigan + nice denim + nice pair of J's (please post which pairs you have so you don't look like a moron though, gotta be some decent ones that match the outfit).
Buns will be delivered.
Have fun.

a few weeks? My man amped. I feel you thoughh first date huh. just go grab some khakis and a button up from ae then you swag. but you problly trollin in that case grab oly 7s and throwback vick its timeless

Thanks for the help.  Ima leave the Js in the closet, wear some dress shoes, shirt and tie, and throw a sweater on top.  This isn't a troll thread, I copped my Wicked tickets weeks ago.  Before that south park even hit.  You know how hard it is to get those tickets?
Now let me hit you guys with this one.  I probably won't get a solid answer but we will see.  What do you all think about my white g shock watch with a shirt and tie?  I know its a "sports" watch, but I think it looks pretty tight.  Its all white, so it stands out a little,  but if I throw on a white dress shirt with a black sweater, I think the watch looks pretty ill.

Leave the g shock at home with the J's. Wear something more dressy is you have it.

i wouldnt even wear dress shoes. id go a nice sweater over a collar shirt possible or just by itself. some nice jeans and some casual looking shoes nothing bulky though(what other have already said) . Make sure you have a nice haircut and are shaved, none of this no-shave novemeber for you
gods speed

A tie is not required for that type of event, you'll stand out for the wrong reason. If you're bent on dressing up though, wear a dress shirt and leave the top button undone. An make sure you wear a clean undershirt and that your dress shirt is ironed. Good luck. Good choice on the musical, I definitely enjoyed it.
