Anyone else having trouble figuring out what articles of clothing, footwear, etc. to school?

No.

OP how far away from home is your school and how often do you intend to visit home? It really depends on how far away you are and what conditions are like there. If you'll only be home for winter break and summer break then I'd recommend packing a lot of fall/winter clothes now and depending on what winter is like there bring some heavier coats and boots. In general you'll want to bring a lot of your lightweight shoes for walking around campus. You'll obviously want some nice clothes along with stuff you can just wear to the gym. Keep a checklist of what you use at home on the regular (like toothbrush, hairbrush, razor, medicine) so you won't forget anything. I know it's easier said than done, but try to start packing in advance.

Take it from me 7 pairs of kicks, one nice going out kicks, 18 pk of beers, couple bottles of jack, money for bud and your set

My school is about 2 hrs away from home. My main problem is making sure I don't over pack so I just asked my homies about what they brought along with general knowledge from freshman yr. Really optimistic about soph yr

You and I are similar in that we're both sophomores and go to schools that are 2 hours away from home. If you don't want to overpack, plan out what clothes and shoes you plan on wearing throughout the week. You'd need a few t shirts you don't mind wearing to the gym, some nicer shirts for classes/to go out in, and maybe a few polos and sweaters. If you plan on going to the gym a lot you'd obviously need some gym shorts and shoes. Since it's getting to be fall/winter pack some pairs of jeans and khakis. If you want to have the minimum you'd need, think about how often you'd wear each of these on a weekly basis and in my case I multiply it by 2, since I do laundry every 2 weeks. My year has already started and I'm hoping it goes well too.

Btw, you might try and dress real nice first couple weeks ...

By the time it hit October I was in sweats, plain tees, and basketball shorts :lol
