Long story short I purchased something from owner of ILLROOTS.com around 6 months ago. On my first attempt to purchase the item I attempted to pay with it using the Bill Me Later service, (this was accidentally.) Luckily they did not accept the Bill Me Later transaction (at least I was under the impression that they did not.) After this I just pulled out my debit card and paid for the item using that. I received the shipped item as expected.

Fast forward to now, "Bill Me Later" is saying I have a $200 balance for an item that I have not made a payment on. I talked to a customer service rep this morning and they are saying that BML paid for the item and that I would need to make payments ASAP. I told her that I just made the purchase using my debit card and was clearly told that the BML service did not work.

They are basically trying to tell me that I paid for the item twice. If I paid for the item twice why did I not receive two of the item? My debit card was charged and the item was paid for in full as expected.

How should I go about this NT?

Can't get in touch with the ILLROOTS owner.

That's shady as hell....bill me later by accident? How? Wouldn't you have to confirm something like that?

I did NOT confirm this at all. On the checkout screen there was an option to pay with Bill Me Later with a PayPal account, or just use a debit/credit card.

you shouldve gotten an email right after you used BML and they give you updates every month for your statement. So if you have none of that stuff and no shipping confirmation/receipt from the store then you should be good

My statement for each month (dating back to 6 months ago) shows that I have no transactions whatsoever.

Confused as to where the hell this balance is coming from.

Have them prove it to you by sending you a receipt/statement of what you owe. If they can't prove it, ignore them.
