Hey so I sold an item on ebay last night while asleep and had the buyer message me asking to pay via paypal direct payment. I was asleep so I never replied and four hours later he paid with this method. Is it ok to ship or not? I read on the paypal seller protection that its not covered so im leaning towards no. Anyone on here have any experience with this?

Also as a side note all these weird things and scammy people tend to pop up whenever I sell at retail or significantly below market value. When I charge top dollar never had ppl play games :lol

just checked the paypal account and under transaction details it says that it is ok to ship and seller protection eligible. guess its ok to ship, just never had someone pay using that method before.

I dont know why the buyer would ask you to send you payment directly unless something fishy was up. If you sold it outside of Ebay then you could give him a better price since you wouldn't factor in the final value fees you'd have to pay Ebay which is usually approx 10% for clothes and shoes, but that opens up the potential for a charge back or something and it likely isn't worth it unless you trust them/sold to them before. And as I aid it usually something the seller bring up not the buyer.

Yea I dont know why he asked but he winded up paying through eBay (I do invoices all the time but never had a request for a direct payment before). Seller protection does not include direct payment so he understood. All that happened while I was asleep so once I woke up had to figure out the clues :lol
