1. Never send or receive as gift.
2. Always send to CONFIRMED/VERIFIED addresses ONLY.
3. Must use signature confirmation on payment over $225
You should be good to go.

I guess it depends on the rep. One rep told me 250, another 225. Its an extra 1.50 or something like that, so I dont risk it.lol i was like lolAlways send as gift , it's nice gesture + and it's like a surprise !
i thought signature confirmation was $250 or over? did they change it?1. Never send or receive as gift.

Not if you're a new seller on eBay. Paypal holds your money for 21 days, so you need to hope that the buyer doesn't do anything fishy like a chargeback or scam you, because they'll take it.I guess it depends on the rep. The general consensus is that GIFT payments don't have BUYER PROTECTION. But truth is, there isnt BUYER nor SELLER protection.
I learned this the hard way. Got scammed on 800 for DS South Beaches, but fortunately I was able to get my money back on my own. Paypal did absolutely NOTHING.
Here's a tip...NEVER leave funds in your paypal account. Once you receive payment, transfer it to your bank account right away. If a buyer tries to scam you and paypal rules within their favor, they can ONLY take available funds on your paypal balance. They can't dip into your bank account without your permission. This is another way to protect yourself as a seller.
So you've never had any issues with chargebacks or something like that?
I'm not so sure about this one. Insurance by shipping carriers only cover their mistakes, meaning If the package is lost or stolen. I dont know how they can protect you with paypal if the buyer decides to scam you.I shipped something out worth $500 and got delivery confirmation instead of signature confirmation accidentally1. Never send or receive as gift.

You should be good to go..I got insurance on it though so i think ill be okay![]()
I have, but fortunately I was able to provide the shipping and tracking confirmations as well as emails. So you've never had any issues with chargebacks or something like that?

Basically, its the SELLER'S responsiblity to make sure the buyer receives the item. So if the buyer files a claim against you citing they didnt receive the item, paypal will rule against you because you don't have signature confirmation. I'd transfer the funds right away just in case.

Before you ship out, make sure you see a "seller protection" icon on the page or an "ok to ship" icon. You should be okay.

Incorrect.
I believe it was last year or the year before they made all users agree to a new policy. The new policy gives paypal the ability to go into your account with out your permission if your account is in the red for X amount of time.Explain why its bad to receive payment as a gift? I received 1500 for rims once and was worried, but paypal said the buyer had no way to get the money back.
