Per Bill Simmons: This Year, Marc Gasol Single Handedly Vindicated THAT Trade

%!@@, I thought that when those scrubs lost, we'd be done with Memphis talk until next year...

Yeah, good trade.

Yes Marc looked great in the playoffs. But yet we forget that Pau was a huge piece in the Lakers winning two chips the past three years.

Prisoner of the moment.

But that didn't directly hurt the Grizzlies though. They weren't going to compete for the Championship those years anyway. They weren't going to win with Pau and the team they had.

Its still a one-sided trade, but Marcs play this year saved it from being the worst trade ever.

It was vindicated in that it is now not one of the worst trades in NBA history, not that the trade was even.

he was a throw in, and ends up bein the best player in the trade.

and the trade also got them zack randolph, indirectly.

It worked for both teams but not for the rest of the NBA. Jabron would be going for a 3peat if it wasnt for the trade.

The funny thing is that Marc's play during the regular season regressed from last season, but he played very well during the post season.

Gasol was not a throw in. Management knew who he was because he used to play high school ball in Memphis while Pau was there.

The trade ended up netting Memphis four rotation players (Gasol, Randolph, Arthur and Vasquez).
