How can I open a jpeg in photoshop cs3 the same way as I open a RAW file(.nef)

Like in that image editing program that automatically pops up whe opening raw files?

You can't. That's the point of a RAW file. it lets you adjust it before you convert it to jpeg, instead of letting the camera do it foryou.

ok so new question how do i manually adjust the blacks and vignette of the photo?

Wait.. what's your original question?

The way I read it.. .raw files open up in Photoshop and you'd like .jpg/.jpeg files to do the same.. Correct?
If that's the case, you just have to configure what program is opened for those file extensions.. Read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859
