The downside of having a black sole is the nickname. We wouldn't be able to call them "stealths."

But yes, the black sole does make the shoe look better, but the grey contrasts much better with the red stitching.

The gray balances the white stitching. As stated, that would be too much black on the shoe. I like it as is.
