Bottom line, Lebron has a ways to go before he can be in the discussion with Kobe, let alone MJ.
Championships do matter, the game is 5 on 5. If you are a great player you win, period, no ifs ands or buts about it. To paraphrase what was said on PTI this week, "It's not football with 22 players out there, it is a team of 5."
LeBron has already easily surpassed Kobe. He's nowhere near MJ, but Kobe is the one who is not even in the discussion. Kobe is a lesser player who has been a part of great teams. Both Luke Walton and Sasha Vujacic have 2 rings. Is LeBron "out of the discussion" with them?
Don't kid yourself, LeBron IS going to get the rings, but that's not what makes him a great player. That is a result of being a member of a great team.
QFT Kobe couldn't even beat my suns in the first round a handful of years back why you ask? Because he had nobody around him!! You cannot argue the fact that there is a direct correlation between Gasol's arrival and the rejuvenation of the Lakers in the playoffs.
