Please LOCk

I think we lucked out with the 3rd pick haven't really heard anything about the Jags or Chiefs trading down. We just have to hope Luke or Fisher are still there.

I hope we trade back to like the 6-9 range, then hopefully trade back again to the 13-18 range lol.
A 1st rounder in 2014 would be amazing.

As soon as either Joeckel or Fisher are promised to be available at our slot, I'm going to be excited as hell. I fully expect a trade if that happens.

Im excited for the draft for the first time in a while, I just wana see what happens. But im nervous too. Im excited and nervous at the same damn time!

That article was cool read it a few days ago unfortunately like most stories about the Raiders theres a lot of half truths.

Per Steve Corkran, Raiders beat writer..

Raiders DID have a draft room and a draft board.
Raiders were NOT the only team in the league that wasnt signed to a scouting agency.

There were a few others in there that Steve talked about in his chat yesterday. He said most of it was correct, but they did stretch a few things.

AS FAR AS THE DRAFT.....

Couldn't be happier the way things are shaping up. If Jags DONT take a tackle, we're trading. The OT position is on fire this year.

Even if Jags DO take the 2nd tackle, I can see us still trading with someone who really wants Lane Johnson because Philly might be taking him.

My dream scenario...

We trade down, gain a 2nd and STILL get Star or Floyd. Anything else on TOP of that will be gravy for me.

Can't wait for the draft. I am feeling trading down might actually happen. :D

Vic Tafur (I think) said it best on Twitter; not trading down at this point would be a disappointment.

Dennis Allen: "I feel like a little kid on Christmas Eve."

AHHHHH 5 MORE HOURS!!!!!!

My buddies invited me out to Morton's for a steak dinner. I politely turned them down and said I had things to do.. (I'm such a nerd.)

I'm trying to figure out where I should be for the draft. Kind of want to go somewhere with other like minded Raider fans, but I don't know of any Raider-centric bars in the East Bay or South Bay (besides Rickey's in San Leandro, place is nice but expensive).

i gotta rush home and get my workout in before 8 then I think I'm gonna cook up some killer fish or something.

I'm in Philly so theres nothing around me hahaa.

I'm used to the draft on Sat anyway so I'd be bartending. First time I can just sit back and listen.

Happy Birthday laker4lifeman

How's this for a shocker: Several execs picking early in round 1 believe OAK will take corner DJ Hayden 3rd overall if they keep the pick

NFL Draft surprise? Raiders may take Hayden third overall

Several teams picking in the high end of the first round believe the Raiders, if they cannot trade down, will take Houston cornerback D.J. Hayden with the third overall pick, which would certainly qualify as the first shocker of this unpredictable draft.

Hayden has made a tremendous rise since taking a blow to his heart from a helmet in November and nearly dying.

Multiple clubs have him rated as the top corner available, according to league sources. And as his medical issues have subsided and his months of recovery have him back in peak condition, teams have increasingly elevated his draft stock.

Still, going third overall would be a surprise to many. The Raiders are high on him and are seen as a true wild card at the top of the draft. And though they are trying to trade down, other clubs are penciling them with Hayden in their projections. One GM in the top 10 believes Oakland will be able to pull off a trade down -- in which case, Hayden would be the target of that move.

Oakland has been linked with Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, as well as any of the top three offensive tackles. But the Hayden buzz is growing. If the Raiders keep the third pick and Hayden's name is called, I can't consider it a surprise anymore.

And several executives that I was in contact with would be surprised to hear any other name called at this point.

I don't see it. Can't see NOT trading down when/if one of the top LT's are there.

like my PS3 name... SMOKESCREEN187

Not the way Reggie has conducted business thus far. I'd be SHOCKED.

Drumming up rumors about a variety of players you would take at that spot in order to increase the number of teams bidding for the slot is the smart move. I'm sure this is what Reggie is doing. One dumb team is going to panic and give up the farm.

If we do that I hope it's because we have a plan for how to address the d-line. I will not be happy if we don't grab at least 2-3 players for the line.

If we take a ******g Corner #3 overall, I will punch my barbershop's tv.

Am I the only one that would prefer Dion Jordan over Floyd?

I'm trying to decide if I want to go to San Ramon for the "official" Raiders draft party. Raiders are supposed to show up for autographs or something.

.... that's a drive, though.

Oakland Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie had said the team wasn’t actively shopping their no. 3 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

However, if a team dangles enough bait, even the stingiest have to give in.

McKenzie has operated straight out of his mentor's mold, Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson on how to make sound financial moves over overpaying for big names.

It seems he’s also following his draft strategy of getting full value for draft picks, including trading them for multiple picks.

According to Michael David Smith of Profootballtalk.com, the Raiders are involved in talks with several teams to move down in the draft. Smith writes:

‘Oakland is getting a lot of calls from teams that want to move up to No. 3, the Raiders have previously said they’re getting calls about the third pick but that they’re not actively shopping it. The Raiders may only be passively shopping the pick, but they might find themselves with an offer that’s too good to pass up. Teams including the Lions (who own the No. 5 pick), Browns (No. 6), Cardinals (No. 7) and Dolphins (No. 12) have been mentioned as having interest in moving up.’
