73% of incarcerated youth in Illinois return to prison within 3 years of being released. There are 92 male inmates in the IL Dept. of Juvenile Justice who have served their sentence but have no place to go.
Tabula Rasa will eradicate this problem.
Tabula Rasa's approach to transitioning ex-offenders to society will ensure that, once free, at-risk youth will never return to imprisonment. Residents will participate in intensive counseling, life skills courses, goal setting, community service, education and more.
When residents graduate from Tabula Rasa they will have a high school diploma or GED, plans for higher education, housing arrangements and secure employment.
After a resident leaves the program the doors of Tabula Rasa will always be open to him. Tabula Rasa will track each resident and provide therapy and guidance when needed. We are confident that Tabula Rasa will put a stop to the revolving door of incarceration.
