Im not an artist but what i notice with art is there is so many levels of skill its crazy. all appreciated even if you're just beginning.
so many techniques with drawing don't even know where you begin.
personally i wish i could freehand copperplate calligraphy. with those dip pens with the nibs.. Like what they do with wedding invitations etc.

Just remembered this thread. Here's some new work.
Red and Purple. Egg/oil tempera on canvas 48"x72". Having always been a fan of Mark Rothko's paintings, I wanted to study and emulate his unique painting techniques while rendering forms. I did another painting of the same size (the green one next to it) but it's mediocre. I'm going to dispose of the canvas and reuse the stretchers.
The Pope.
