\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Always liked it after seeing it as a kid in Bond

most underused and under-utilized bond car of all time  i was hyped when i saw it but then he barely drove it it got cut in half

i should prob rewatch the world is not enough. always thought it was the worst of the brosnan bond movies but it's been like 25 years since i've seen it haha

So, I went to a really unique show on Saturday, held at a small airport in upper bucks county. Lots of unique vehicles & lots of vintage small planes flying in. While there, I checked the map to see how far Lebanon, NJ was from Erwinna, Pa (where I was at), as there was a very very unique car show in the park in Lebanon. A national TVR meet, where I got to FINALLY see, in person, a Cerbera (V8 2+2), a Sagaris (bat**** crazy) and the one car I want to import more than ANYTHING that is available....A 2000 Tuscan!

For those who don't know and didn't see my post before (a few weeks back) it's the car that was in Swordfish with Travolta, Jackman and Holly Berry (though, most remember the movie for a different reason 😍). It is the definitive car that wants to kill you as there is ZERO ABS, ZERO Traction Control, ZERO aids to help the driver. Add with that a 3.6L to 4.0L inline 6 with ITBs, that TVR made themselves, putting out anywhere from 325 to 400hp depending on tune and displacement (and if it has a Red Rose Package). All this in a car that weights about 2,600 lbs and is only a foot longer in size to a freaking Miata! 🤯

Yeah, these can sell for low £20k to upper £30k British Pound. Do the conversion for a car around £26,000 and your talking about $34,600 give or take. Add import fees, duties and the new ******* tariffs set by some *******, your gonna be in one for around $45k or so. Insane value for the car you get. And only about 6-9 in the country right now (they made 1677).

So yeah, I want one because it's different, because it's crazy, because it looks like NOTHING on the road or at any Cars & Coffee. And if everything goes to plan, I can have the cash to start SERIOUSLY shopping soon. Here are some pics of the car I want and I'll put the other cars in a following post. 👍

Thanks to Swordfish I always had to have one in Gran Turismo. Such a great looking car and second best curves in the movie.

And the funny thing, most people have no clue what it was. I knew from watching Top Gear. And when Automobile Magazine did a story specifically on the car in the end of 2001, I was geeked that we actually got to read about the car.

I'm not kidding when I said I'm going to be seriously shopping for one. After taking to the one guy there, he really made it seem like I can get a real nice car with little to no issues for much lower than I had assumed. Just waiting for this something to happen then I can dig in deeper. 🤞

I would LOVE to have a car for next spring. The first BIG Cars & Coffee would be incredible if I had one by that time. 🙏🙏

Looks like Toyota wants to compete with Rolls Royce and Bentley with the Century

Yeah dealer meeting is this week, things were announced from Japan Monday. I think a lot of people missed what it meant.

Been in the works for awhile now. GR also is going to be a brand.

A lot of changes and new direction. Sad for the “F” brand they had a decent run.

Kinda cool to see new brands when so many have been canceled.

Feel like there hasn’t been a proper F car in some time

Century line should be dope. Hopefully they don’t keep starving Lexus

i’m trying to think of what a good comparison would be to Century, because lexus is already the premium brand

Unchartered waters for the Japanese. Century is a decades long brand revered in Japan. Tons of history as it’s used by the super rich and politicians. It was a V-12 sedan until the new SUV.

Clearly the decision was made to keep Lexus mid/up and Century will be upper luxury only. They better get it right. Lots of good opportunities .

There were hints.. Aiko Toyoda created GR.. there was a GRMN Century which is wild… He decided to make both a thing it feels like

interesting, i honestly never knew that was even a thing

I wonder if they're going to bring over the luxury van. I know Sprinters had a moment once upon a time. Idk if rappers still on that.

Silver VVT boys :pimp:
Damn, so are the days gone where the LX would be a cheaper option compared to the Land Cruiser? Or is this just a one off thing due to the VVT and mileage?

For super low miles or pristine condition I don't think it matters much. A 2000 LX with 17K miles sold for $72K last week and the week before a 2007 Land Cruiser with 45K miles sold for $71K on BAT

On average LXs are still generally cheaper because there are more available. Higher production numbers in most years IIRC. Also think part of it is new Land Cruisers owners tend to keep them far longer vs new LX owners moving on to the latest luxury SUV

I'm pretty sure the same holds true for the 200-series market

The new Century SUV..
thing is it’s fwd based with awd and a hybrid v-6.

Yes there is a GR version with a sliding door

V6 competing with Rolls and Bentley makes it DOA in my opinion

Would be a more level playing field and competitive if it was electric

Looking like a repeat of Scion if I'm being honest

Yeah i think they know that. Just heard a V-12 rumor.

Trust i’ve provided real feedback.

We will see!!!
