I heard that Nike used to have sample sales. Man I tell u if I gave an ounce of thought of reselling I woulda came up in the mid 2000s Before Jersey Gardens went to the dumps they used to get legit samples and outlet prices were true deals, not this $5 off crap. But yea I dont want rare samples or anything, I'd just love to get some good stuff for 39.99 again.
Nike still does have samples sales but thats only for employees Ive heard good things about Jersey Gardens. Outlets still get samples but its always hit or miss. From experience an outlet could go 3-6 months and get no samples then within a month get 100-200 new samples
Outlets in general have changed for the worse, big time. 20 years ago, outlets were truly a place where overstock or previous season's lines were sent to sell at truly discounted prices. Nowadays, many retailers make lines of product exclusively for sale at outlets - they are largely just another avenue of retail space that run a continuous moderate sale. Also, over the years, outlets have gotten much better at understanding what really sells and what has actual value. It's not only Nike that has closed the window on these opportunities. Gone too are the days of $69.99 Polo Bear knits (plus a 20% off coupon you got in the mail). Thinking about all that stuff hurts - $149 early-90s era Steep Techs, Every color 6" Timbo under like $80, and the slightly weirder colors for like $60. Arctic challenge rugbys 39.99. Tommy Hill heavy knit flag sweaters 59.99. Today, you walk into Polo and you might as well be in Marshall's! No wonder when you got back to the city, you had to boost. The grape 60 plus did. Only a overseas release I think. I have 2 other pairs one I wear and the other ds. The ones posted are actual ls samples. There's a bordeaux sample pair to that model as well, but buddy who has doesn't wanna let go. Something like me lol
