Posting System in Baseball?

What do you know about the posting system in baseball.  Do you like it dislike it?

Is there a posting system for clubs in Venezuela, Dominican Republic leagues

it's protects the japanese league from losing it's assets without compensation. without it, a lot of those guys would leave and try and play here.

on the other hand, it's kind of unfair to american born baseball players who don't receive the same compensation japanese players typically get

^doesnt the compensation mostly go to their former teams and/or that league? and japanese players who post are usually all-stars (players who would be worth it to pay 50 mil just to negotiate), so id say the contracts are close to deserved.

that said, its whatever...i dont think there are enough players who post to make a big enough difference. however, the latin american system with "academies" and signing kids and players not being subject to the draft is pretty unfair IMO.

it's pretty sad. a lot of those kids will never get any education, and will play baseball all day long hoping to get a deal. do you think there should be some sort of latin american draft or international draft separate of the current draft? just tossing ideas around.

also, i think this topic would gain more traction in the MLB thread
