i was wearing my '99 cement IVs yesterday and noticed how significantly heavier they are than the more recent retro IVs (mars, military, cg, etc, etc)
...anyone else notice this too? just asking bc im not sure if the heavier weight has anything to do w the air bubbles recently fogging up

Well if you make a chair out of plywood vs one out of oak which one would be heavier and last longer

It's the same reason that a fake Air Force 1 weighs about half an ounce. It's all the materials...

yeah I noticed that too....it's because of the materials JB used to use.....the ones we all like what is it called oh premium leather.

Jb shouldn't bother with cement IV unless is like 1999 retro.

i would imagine its due to difference in materials, but thats just an assumption

it's because they put "nike air" on the back

! i'mkidding, but i know what your talking about when i compared my black/cement and white/cement iv's to my cdp iv's and cool gray iv's. bigdifference, just makes me glad i have some 99's iv's at all in the first place! and they're both wearable, no cracks

now im curious to see who can weigh the OG XI's to the CDP's and see which one is heavier... or the carmines. maybe all OG shoes weigh a bit more, andthe retroes are lighter? Maybe that's why we're getting not so great material!

yeah my white/midnight navy 4s (sz 12.5 for sale) are a lot heavier than my lasers. but quality is also a lot better

i think generally all OGs are gonna be heavier either b/c: 1) when they decide to retro it they find ways to make em more comfy/light...or 2) materials used inthe shoe..the same material availble today was availble back then so yea..hope this helps

I agree that the more recent retros have worse material but isn't it a good thing that they're lighter? I'd think that's something JB would beshooting for

great analogy

it does suck that the materials are so flimsy that you can feel the difference with almost every recently retro'ed pair. i found my retro iii's werealmost as solid as the 01's, which is more than i can say for the iv's... it's like nice materials all went extinct after the 01 for JB

stop teasing me those r my grails
weight them both take a pic post it up
