I don't know; people believe for a lot of different reasons, I for one would think "pompous" and "arrogance" are last on a list of factors that turn people into believers. It'd be more like the opposite of those two words that would bend someone's mind and will and faith in such a direction, characteristics such as meekness, timid, bashfulness.
You'd be hard pressed to debate it with me though, I don't believe in God in that sense my dude.

It's disgusting how these dudes who are supposed to be servants charge people, as if you're poor you can't get the word of God. Jesus said at Matt 10:8 “You received free, give free.” Pastors and Preachers shouldn't be paid at all and should work like everyone else. That's what Jesus and the early apostles did. And all the donations should be voluntary, not a requirement.

Tonight's episode was definitely entertaining.
These Church folks be turning up though. Reminds me of having to go to Church when I was little and the older folks would tell me "Jesus can be cool too" all trying to get me comfortable and down with the King

Recent story in a a Mega Church in Texas.
Someone robbed the tithes safe after a Wednesday service, 175k in CASH was taken! Cash y'all, I'd assume 60-80% off that haul was in checks and useless. 175k CASH after a Wednesday service( Holy ****) pun intended

Ridiculous how these pastors are getting down though.

Christianity today is a farce. From the pulpit to the door nothing but hypocrites and people who feel as long as they say in Jesus name, then they can continue doing whatever they want.

That's how they get people to give them money.
Give them something to believe in, make them feel all warm and fuzzy, ask for 10%, done deal.

Not just that, the prosperity teachings is what really holds them. "God wants you to be rich and prosperous" He wants you to have that new job the big house and the new car, so sow a seed and he will bless you 10 fold.

In reality God doesn't care if you are rich or poor, God never promised you a happy life on earth if you serve him. That isn't what its about, but people don't want to hear the truth that suffering will still come, and their treasures aren't in this world but the next. The real Game about Chrisitanity is how they make you feel like you doing something wrong if you aren't prospering.

Lady told me there was a church in my area that tells the people to bring in their W-2 to make sure they paying their 10%.

I was amazed and people are that dumb.

I heard of one that had an ATM, I was like really? But to be honest the people are to blame to. Most of them just want to go to the biggest church so they brag about it and who their pastor is. So they don't and wont see the problem of having to show W-2s and paystubs.

Not at all, I watched for the same reason last year. To be honest it stopped being funny, and became embarassing and disgusting so I couldn't even finish.

My uncle was a pastor for over 50 years, had his church in the Bronx where he and my aunt lived. Small church with about 15-20 faithful members. He was faithful to his church and his congregation, always accessible to them. He didn't work, but my aunt was a nurse. Anything that came through the church stayed in it to fix up or help church members out with bills food whatever they needed.

I don't have a problem with these pastors making money on the side from book sales, music, whatever. My problem is with those that milk the church and live off that and people thinking it is necessary to buy the pastor a bently or rolls royce. I don't care if he asked for it or not, that just isn't necessary when there is so much more that could be done with that money.

I look at preachers now as motivational speakers thats it. They aren't preaching the word, and they aren't preaching the truh. They are self help coaches, and motivators and throw in a bible verse here and there to get their point across.

I grew up going to the Potters House(TD Jakes) and for the life of me I never understood how people could just give their hard earned money over no questions asked. As a kid I used to wonder what type of Christmases the preacher kids had.

Now as an adult, I'd rather tithe by helping someone less fortune with food, etc than give it to pastor slickback so he can get that new Benz.
