Priceline.com LEGIT? Need info

Round trip from San Diego to Miami came out to ~ $53??? too good to be true? this is for the 3rd week of August, trying to hit up the cruise for the bahamas

if you ever dealt with this site please chime in!

I would only guess how those deals work is that they give you a horrible time of night to fly, and it's non-refundable and a seat surrounded by fat people with crying babies....

$53 WOW thats a crazy deal but I bought a ticket not too long ago sacramento to Orlando and round trip was $236 but it had 2 stops before orlando but the flight back had only 1 stop and neither flight was at wierd times the flight there was 8 A.M. and flight back left at 9 P.M. so it wasnt that bad. Hope that helps a little

ive done that before, me and a friend went to nyc, we paid 550 for 10 days 4 star hotel in times square + 2 round trip airfare

i was trippen out bad when we got there, the hotel we were at was supposed to be 150/night n our room was like a two bedroom w./ 2 bathrooms. it was sick

just checked for Vegas...entered a 4 star hotel, $50 a night...

Priceline is 1000% legit. I have never booked flights, but I book hotels all the time for the LOW....if you are flexible it's the way to go!!!!

Priceline is totally legit, although I have heard a couple horror stories about people waiting all day for their "Name your price" flight. So, if you have time to kill, it might be in your best interest to save some money. That hotel deal sounds freakin' awesome though. I need to look into that for sure.

They're not going to accept that bid. It does work but you have to bid a price that they will approve.

If they DO approve your bid there's no turning back. You have no guarantee on what hotel's you will be staying at and there is almost no way you will get it canceled. As soon as the bid is accepted, you will be charged on your CC and your trip will be booked.

Don't even bother contacting the hotel about canceling either, if you need to cancel call priceline and talk to them about it but in all likelihood your out of luck unless you have a really REALLY good reason and can prove it.

BTW, don't expect to be treated like a 5 star guest if you book priceline and pay 40% of everyone else in the hotel are paying.

Also, if you're a discount website guest, don't even think about asking for an upgrade into a suite for free unless you're throwing the FDA some green when you're asking.

Otherwise you're getting the 1st floor room with the parking lot view.

nver done it for airfare. who knows how that works out. im not down for a 5am flight with 3 layovers so i avoid it.

its legit for hotels though, save a lot of money. they will stick you with less desirable room locations though.

WHen you book a priceline ticket, the hotel can't even see how much you paid. It just goes in a priceline reserve.

And you won't get 3 layovers, it's right there in the terms, no more than 1 layover.

I don't know how all of you are claiming to have had bids accepted but saying you haven't paid yet. If your bid was accepted, it would charge you automatically. And you can get it changed/cancelled if you are or work for the Government and can ahve someone call in and pretend to be your boss

I use name your own price every time I travel now and have never been disappointed. The only one sort of bad was in Kennessaw but that was not priceline's fault, the whole city had some sort of electric issue that week where there was hardly any working air conditioner anywhere, even the malls were like 90 degrees

Besides that, I have rented a car in New York for 8$ a day (Newark technically), stayed in Queens in a 200$ Fairmont for 40$ a night, stayed at the Atlanta Airport Hilton which is also around 200$ for like 42$, flew roundtrip from OKC to NY for 199$ at peak time which was last Labor Day and flights were showing 650$ or more. SO overall I have used priceline.com in ATL, DAL, OKC, EWR (Newark), ORL, and NYC. Looks like I need to spend more time on the left coast this summer

I used it March 2-7 when I flew from MEM to ORD (Chicago). I named my own price at $94 for each way so the total roundtrip was $226. I was lucky enough to get non-stop to and from. My flight left at 1030am on the way there and on the way back it left at 1005am. I know they usually do 1-stop but for some reason I lucked out (thankfully) and got non-stop. I will definitely be using them again.
