Problems cleaning my am 95s

Hey fellas

I got some am 95s.  Im not gonna go into any details on how it happened but basically I got baking soda all up inside my sneakers and I cant clean it off.  Its crystallized under the insole so when I walk around it starts coming out and crystallizing on the outside of my sneakers through the stitch holes. It kinda looks like the salt they use to melt snow with is stuck on my shoes.  So Ive scrubbed the outside a couple times using a toothbrush and wool lite with warm water.  It ll go away when I do this but when I look at it like 2 days later its back. 


I pulled out the insoles Today and I tried to scrub the inside cuz I think this is the source of the problem but I cant even make a dent in it.  If anyone has any ideas on what I can do Id really appreciate it.  Cuz all I can think of now is to submerge the shoe completely under water but I only wanna do this as a last resort.

Put the sneakers in a pillow case and submerge them in water. I would also google any possible agents that work with baking soda. For example, vinegar.

try the restoration thread, they should be able to help.
honestly, just do what kickz4show said and put them each in a pillow case, remove the insole, throw in a washing machine on gentle cycle and let air dry
you should be good to go.
i'd be careful if they were 2000 or older tho

nah they are actually pretty brand new GR's nothing special def made in 2010. Im just pissed that I bought em only wore em like 3 or 4 times and I already need new ones.

I actually found out that boiled water is good for dissolving baking soda. So this weekend Im gonna boil some water let it cool and then use a sponge to scrub inside.

I will def try that pillow case thing if my plan doesnt work.

I ll let you guys kno.

uh, if you let it cool, won't that defeat the purpose of using boiling water? seriously, just throw them in the washer in pillowcases like everybody has suggested, it's the easiest method and most common method for cleaning shoes like that.

no it wouldnt defeat the purpose. Im not boiling the shoe. Boiled water is chemically different from water straight out the tap. It dissolves baking soda crystals if its cold.

So I had to submerge the shoe. Now Im waiting for it to dry and hopefully its fixed. I ll keep this updated incase someone ever gets the same problem.

^ Use ur head next time it does defeat the purpose boiled water and room temperature water there is no difference clown! Turned into a chemist and messed up ur kicks.
