Yay or Nay?

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I will be giving my girl one so I can save up for the right engagement ring.

nay for me.

I'd rock a friendship bracelet though....Then again, I am already married. lol

I'd slap my husband if he got me a promise ring. E ring or nothing. What are we, 12?

but most couples discuss marriage before the proposal anyways, so it's not even necessary. Just save up for the e ring.

Nowadays if a chick has a promise ring, its most likely because she is a "born-again" virgin (HA!)

I know most guys look at a women finger before trying to holler at them. If they see a ring, it might make them think twice before trying to pursue the girlassuming she's taken.

OP how old are you?

I got my girl a ring from Tiffany's just meant to be worn as an accessory, she took it upon herself to put it on her left hand so I guess it's kindalike a promise ring?

Old enough.
I've done bought my girl bracelets, necklaces, pendants and what not. I've never bought her a ring before though. When I say promise ring, I don'tmean the one with two hearts or stuff like that. It's basically a nice diamond ring which has a lot of meaning to it. Everyone has their own opinion whichis why I posted the question. All you need to do is put yay or nay and your reason, or keep it moving.

I've tried that several times and it doesn't stop them. But for some reason when I'm with my little 3year old brother or 5month old sister andI'm holding them, dudes turn the other cheek.

I always thouh this was a dumb idea.
A ring to promise that i will get you another ring?

Thats like calling someone to let them know you are going to call them in a min.

promise rings...wow...

I gave my girl one, we were together for like a year then, we comin up on our 5 year anniversary soon..

i dont think anything is wrong with it at all, to me it holds a lil more symbolism than the average "i love you" which is thrown around so looselynowadays..

ill be proposing to her next year though..

Promise rings have to be one of the stupidest things ever conceived. Besides the fact that they make absolutely no sense, they're also an indication thatyou have the relationship maturity level of a 6th grader.

Giving a girl a promise ring is like saying to her "I don't want to marry you, but just in case I decide that i want to propose to you in the future,I bought you this ring to hold you over in case you were thinking of breaking up with me....Also I'm really insecure, so I want other guys to thinkyou're engaged to me, but I don't actually want to be engaged to you right now."
