ps3 red screen

I get the red screen for my ps3. Can't get around it. I don't wanna spend 150 and send it to Sony. I was thinking of buying a whole new hard drive. Do u ppl think that will work or have any other suggestions?

its fixable

an nt'er had the same problem a while back

i think he just unplugged everything (including the usb to the controller) and turned back on without the controller connected.

Never heard of this either

try shutting the PS3 off then restart it by holding the power button until you hear it beep the 2nd time
