PS3 SUPPORT SUCKS....

I BEEN PLAYIN MY PS3 FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS SINCE I'VE HAD FREE TIME... I'VE HAD THE SYSTEM FOR A LIL OVER A YR AND ITS BEEN GOOD TO ME... LAST NIGHT IFINISH PLAYIN BATMAN A.A. AND THEN FOR THE 1ST TIME EVA I GO TO PLAYSTATION HOME PROGRAM THATS LIKE A SOCIAL NETWORK FOR PS3 OWNERS... IT TELLS ME I NEED AUPDATE SO WHATEVER I DOWNLOAD IT.... TELL ME HOW AFTER IT FINISHES IT IT STARTS UP AND THEN FREEZES!!!! SO WHAT EVER I DONT THINK NOTHING OF IT.... I TURN OFFTHE PS3 AND RESTART IT... I TRY AGAIN AND IT FREEZES AGAIN... SO AT THIS POINT IM TRIED OF TRYING SO I JUST GO TO SLEEP... I WAKE UP THIS MORNING TO PLAYC.O.D. AND NONE OF MY GAMES WORK AND IT FREEZES NON STOP NOW.... I CALL PLAYSTATION AND THEY SAY ITS NOT THERE DOWNLOADS FAULT... MEANWHILE IT HAS BEEN FINEUNTIL THE POINT WHEN I DOWNLOADED THERE !!%$@* UP PROGRAM.... NOW IT WONT EVEN DO A SYSTEM RESTORE TO FIX THE PROBLEM SO SINCE IM OUTTA THE 1 YR WARRENTY IGOTTA PAY $150 FOR THEM TO FIX IT NOT INCLUDING SHIPPIN (BOX AND PENUTS TO PROTECT IT).... IT WOULD JUSS BE CHEAPER IF I END UP BUYING A NEW ONE CAUSE MINE ISONLY A 40 OR 60 GIG SYSTEM... MY POINT IS CAN ANYBODY HELP ME IF THEY HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE??? AND IF NOT HERES A WARNING NOT TO DOWNLOAD THERE MESSED UPUPLOADS!!!!

(CLIFF NOTES)
1. TRIED TO USE PLAYSTATION HOME FOR THE 1ST TIME
2. NEEDED UPDATE 2 TRY IT SO I DOWNLOADED IT
3. AFTER DOWNLOAD MY MY PS3 FREEZE CONTANTLY AND WONT PLAY GAMES ANYMORE
4. WONT EVEN LET ME DO A SYSTEM RESTORE TO SEE IF THAT FIXES IT
5. SONY REFUSES TO TAKE BLAME AND IS CHARGIN ME $150 (NOT INCLUDIN SHIPPING) TO FIX IT
 
yeah, ive been reading reports of 1.3 causing freezing which is the first home update ive seen do that

simply put - u picked a really bad time to explore home, not that its your fault cause its not but u just picked a really bad time to explore home, have utried deleting home?

also, try calling them again and asking to talk to a manager, keep asking to talk to higher-ups until u reach someone that can actually make things happen,these customer service people cant make anything happen
 
HOME kept freezing my system also. some thursdays they do updates on HOME and some people can't get onto it. today when i tried to go on HOME it keptfreezing during the initializing period. i got pissed and just deleted HOME all together, and then downloaded it again. once it uploaded, it stopped freezingup.

try deleting HOME.
 
i triied updating .. but my system never lets me get past 11% .. probably better that i didnt fully update . good luck to you . btw xbox360 is 100x'sbetter imo
 
Thank God I don't mess with home like that.

If that happened to me I would've been heated.

do you have guitar hero or rock band plugged in, cuz i know home freezes everything until i pulled that controller thing out.....

I guess you're screwed then cause when your console red rings (other than the jaspers which are heat efficient enough, they all eventuallywill because of the design) you'll have to pay up.

I waited to get mine for that reason. Hate faulty/first-gen hardware
 
hold down the power button and after that see if it lets you do the system restore. you seem to have a corrupted file system on your hard drive
 
i have a xbox... i got a ps3... my xbox red ringed 2 times already thank god i was covered cuz of there chip keeps melting.... this is the 1st time for my ps3thou
 
its says my harddrive is corrupt.... i did the restore and still doesnt work.... idk wut else to do
 
delete home and then reinstall it... it should work fine after and not freeze up....and if it does freeze up it wont be at the startup but while in your inhome... it freezes every now and then... its not your ps3 its just the new update has been giving home trouble...it either freezes or lags...

all you can do now is reformat. you will lose all your safe files but it will get rid of the problem

i just tried... it keeps saying error occuered at 2%
