Question about Apple Time Machine...mac heads help please

Hey I just got a new 1TB drive today (

) And I am doing Time Machine for the first time. My question is I want to store all my music to the HD and delete it off of my computer. Now once Time Machine finishes backing up all my data on the computer, will I be able to click on my HD and click on a folder with my music in it. OR, do I always have to go int the Time Machine app to access my music?


basically Drag and drop my music VS having to open up TM app every time I want to play a song.

If I have to "restore" every time then I will not use TM and just drag and drop all the files I want saved to my HD

you need to partition the time machine hdd.

Time Machine is pretty much strictly for backups.

If i remember right you can designate Time Machine to only backup X amount to your External Drive.
From there you can copy the rest of your music from iTunes onto the harddrive. Make sure you chance the music file through the prefs.
