You'll get over the air HD channels without the box, because your TV has a tuner but you generally need a cable box/HD cable service to get the cable HD channels. Otherwise it's just basic cable reception without the box.

Okay i'm thinking about canceling my cable from comcast and you know how comcast gives you th  dvr hd receiver
so if i cancel comcast cable i gotta return that dvr hd receiver back to them. Now even if i cancel my service i still have this
cable connection in my basement which is straight from the wall and i plug it directly into my TV ( Sony Bravo 1080p HD)
i get cbs..nbs..abc..fox..pbs and couple other local channels in HD but the other stations like espn..tnt..tbs are not in hd and are blurry.
Now is there anyway to get espn..tnt...and other cable channels in HD? is there a box i can buy?

Thanks in advance

So is there a HD cable box i can buy online or anywhere else for that matter?  Or am i out of luck and the only way to get say espn in HD is from the cable service comcast?
I hate to pay $70 a month only to watch 2 or 3 stations
