NT is bugging.... What exactly determines when an authentic on field jersey gets made for a player? I'm dying for a Mark Ingram authentic but have had no luck finding one. Any info will be appreciated.

You're looking for an authentic or a game worn jersey? If you're looking for an authentic the best advice is wait for Modells.com to have their 40% off and buy then. Don't know much about getting a game worn jersey.

if you want one, stay away from ebay because less than 0.0001% you will find a real one. if you want his jersey go to NFL.com

I don't think he is popular enough yet, so they don't make one. NFL and Saints website don't have one. Best bet would be to go to the stadium or customize it.

Not sure how long your money is, but authentic NFL jerseys are expensive. I either do the premier jerseys or the replica.

I gave eBay a chance and was disgusted by all the fakes

If it's not on nfl.com or the Saints online team store then customizing an authentic would probably be your best bet on one of those websites.

NFL, Saints, Modells all have the Ingrim. You click the customize authentics and they have just about the whole roster. $240 is much, like I said you gotta wait for the Modells 40% off, that's what I always do. Not sure when they're having it again

It's easy to tell the fake ones.  The most tell tale sign is by looking at the NFL shield on the collar as well as the jock tag.  On the fakes, the shield and the tag almost appear a little blurry and fuzzy.  The lettering and stitching is not crisp and bright.  If you have a really good eye, you can also tell on the fakes that the numbers are not quite the same size or style as the real authentics.  If all else fails, if it's $40 and advertised as authentic, it's fake.  Even a blowout clearance rack ain't gonna have a $250 jersey for $40.

Just to clarify, I'm not the seller. Recently I bought two authentics from an acquaintance at a good price. My intention was only to help out other NTers.

Anything with a captain's patch is a fake too, right?

I've never seen an authentic with a captain's patch from a store.

they dont put them on the jersey nor can you buy them anywhere. unless things changed recently that i didnt know of. every single captain patch you see anywhere for sale on a jersey or not is fake unless its a game jersey direct from the NFL.

You are right.  Anything with any captains patch or any other commemorative patch is fake.

It actually makes me sick...the amount of fake Packers jerseys I see people wearing around here.  The Packers have one of the worst fakes I've seen.  Instead of heat pressed stripes on the sleeves like the real ones have, the fakes actually have a swatch of fabric that makes up the striping on the sleeve.  I'm sure most people don't know any better or don't care but for someone who pays attention to that stuff like me it kind of bothers me.

It will be interesting to see how Nike changes it up next season.  I'm hoping for a more true fitted authentic from them, as opposed to the horrible huge and baggy stuff from Reebok.
