If someone who physically read a book is talking about it, does a person who listened to it say "Yeah I read that...." of do they actually say"I listened to the audiobook..."

I know this is a pointless question but just wanna know what you guys think.

Well I've only listened to audiobooks of books that I had previously read but I have said both at times

Is there a way to mark your spot in Itunes???

I just got the Lost Symbol and 2 big #*# 8 hour files...

Is listening to an audiobook as stimulating as actually reading it? Would you guys say that listen to an audiobook as opposed to reading the book would be adumbing down of sorts? Just curious as to what you guys think.

it's not as "dumbing" as watching TV..
but definitely not the same as reading a book.

makes long car rides go mad quickly though

and some books... just shouldn't be audiobooks... eg Bourne Trilogy

Agreed. That's really the only time I listen to them. I also tell people that I've heard the audiobook, rather than saying I've readthe book.

the Bourne books are NOTHING like the movies... I've read 2... they are really intensive... having you go back and forth just to keep track of all thecharacters and story arcs.

I borrowed The Giver from teacher in HS after we had already read it in class. I couldn't get through the whole thing even in the car. I haven't triedaudiobooks since.

i loved the book and couldn't remember all the details...i didn't feel like reading it so i borrowed the tapes from my teacher...
