question about USPS

so i bought an auto baseball off ebay and it was shipped USPS with a tracking no.....i tracked it today and it says it was delivered but it reallywasnt(someone either stole it or the mailman didnt leave it because it didnt fit in the mailbox).....how do i go about this situation

Check the post office cuz you may not have been home when they tried to deliver it
