Who is a sub contractor he paints and remodels houses so that's not uncommon i have seen bigger.

Wait, cash or deposit?

If you're cashing a 20k check that is need for serious attention at a bank.

At Citi, a non-client (customer w/o a bank acct) trying to cash an on-us check (Citi check), the limit is $7500.

Did you have to fill out a CTR?

Dont think theres a limit to how much you can cash. Anything over 10k though you'd wanna call the bank a few days or even weeks in advance and tell em youwill be making a large withdrawal so they can get the funds available.

yea, i understand that, but it just seems crazy to me...i thought it would be like deposited or somethin. what's he do with the cash then?

THe person he does work for like a company or a person who owns the house or the property he is doing the remodell job to.

i always wondered what the limit was for how much a bank can cash a check for.

What the hell would you want to get 20k in cash for? Pulling a pac-man that night or what?

My dad pays his workers cash (shhhhhhh)

and

like whats the limit the teller can give you cash before she has to call a manager to approve it.

What im asking is how much can a teller give u with a cashed check before having to get it cleared by a manager.

when I worked at a bank, anything under $500 was up to the teller's desecration. Any higher and the head teller would have to sign it. The head teller isreally who clears it, the bank manager is pretty useless, in that particular aspect of the bank. Someone wanted to cash a really big check one day, but mymanager told him we didn't have the cash available and to come back the next day.

Oh allright good looks pesoz.

Ive cashed a 1k Check before no problems.

And the Money is coming from the same bank i am cashing the check at does this make a difference.

ive gone to my bank and wanted 9000 cash one time, they told me i had to put in a "formal request" at least 24 hours in advance. it was complete bull
