Question for scrabble players...

So the word "has" is on the board, horizontally. Can a player inset the word "glee" horizontally, using the last "e" to form the word "he" vertically, connecting the two words?

I think you would have to spell "he" first, then spell "glee." I could be wrong but I am pretty sure you have to build off of existing words and if you put one down you have to build off your last word.
