Question on sex in society

Why is sex considered so taboo in our society, for instance in a movie they will show the most graphic violent scenes, that hopefully you or I will neversee in our lifetimes, but when it comes to showing sex, something that we all do, or will do, it is simulated. I don't understand why it is ok to show suchterrible things, but not show something so basic in human nature as sex. Maybe it speaks to our society, but I would appreciate other peoples input on thematter.

To be fair it's largely in American society. Travel abroad and it's most often a much different tale. For example: The Sun (in England) posts a freshpair of ******* every day on page 3. In Denmark and Sweden there are channels that post full frontal nudity after 9pm. In Japan, they sell used underwear (yetoftentimes censor vagina in pornography) in vending machines. Sex is not taboo in other parts of the world.

What do you mean by sex is simulated? If you don't mean what I think you mean then you should consider choosing another word.

SMH i thought it said Sex in the City.
but yeah, it's not really llike that anymore. Back in the day they had couples sleeping in separate beds. Idk if i fully understand what you're sayingbut when I'm watching a movie I don't want to see penetration save that for pron.

Says who? I know I wasn't the only one who wanted a refund after seeing fantastic four and there was no nude sex scene with Alba.

I was just thinking about this same topic today. In Superbad they said they couldn't show Mclovin humping or actually simulating sex when he was in bedwith the girl because the actor was under 18 at the time, but yet they could show him smoking a cigarette which kills people daily.

Im not just talking about movies, I just used that as an example. I guess that guy who said sex is sacred makes sense, but I still cant get over the type ofviolence and hatred that is accepted in our country and world, and how the act of sex is looked at as bad, maybe I am not able to convey my thoughts into wordsas well as I would like

i think it adds to the mystery of sex to the uninitiated ( virgins ) and becomes comedy for the initiated ( non... u get what i mean)
