Quick grammar help?

Sentence:

"Three out of the five hands are smooth, nail polished hands that evidently represents a women. The other two hands are not so polished and even exhibit wrinkles compared to the three manicured hands. The ***LATTER/FORMER*** represents an economically upper class of housewives that are able to afford lavish manicures blah blah blah"


Would I use "latter" or "former?" Im saying its latter but my classmate proof read my paper and she's saying its "former" so now im confused and cant think straight with all this studying I been doing for finals.

Any help to clear this up?

Represent not represents in the first sentence
Remove the a before women
Remove even before exhibit

It's former if you're talking about the first set of hands, latter if it's the second set.
