Say I were to DL a mixtape while on campus and were to drag and drop. When I sync with my laptop at home, will that tape get erased or will I be able to transfer it to my iTunes?

I've wondered this too but have yet to try it. You got a USB? I keep all my mp3 files so I just copy them to my drive and take them home to organize, rename, import etc..

what kind of ipod do you have? If its not a touch/iphone, you can just select "Manaully manage music" in your ipod pane in itunes, and then add from any library without it deleting
