Hey.

It looks like I'm about to close a deal on some kicks I've wanted for a while. The arrangement was made on another forum, and I'm not sure the seller wants to make a private auction on eBay (in order to avoid the final fees or go through the trouble of setting the shipping to _____ amount and the shoes to something low). I've made it a requirement that we do it on Paypal.

I know from a while back when I was trying to sell my laptop that Paypal held the payment until the buyer could confirm delivery. Does this still occur? If so, is it only for eBay auctions, or does this go for all Paypal transactions?

If you guys could answer my questions it would be a huge help; don't want to end up creating a "I got scammed vol. help out NTERS!" thread

Ok, the guy is asking to mark it as a "gift" so he won't be charged additional Paypal fees. I've heard to avoid this. Should I persuade him to do an eBay auction?

Is this other forum iss? If you don't send it as a gift, then he might ask you to pay an extra 4%.
