Just go to another one. Clubs are overrated anyways.

lol the raiden guy at continental is the owner
if you go on citysearch and yelp for continental he actually replys and the dude is pure comedy, go read up on it

continental isnt too bad to grab a couple cheap drinks
your paying 5 dollars for drinks and 5 shots is 10 dollars, your getting what you pay for. if you want superior service, go pay 15 for a drink

He's not the owner, he's the manager. The owner was there once and apparently went out of his way to tell the bouncers not to let my boyin.

im good with all the rules except for number 1. how you gonna ban a brand of clothing? if i come there with a pair of fitted sean john jeans with no designs orpatches pulled to my waistline i cant come in?

I never understood how "white" bars and clubs people be looking straight bummy..dirty Cons...wrinkled dress shirts etc. Rocking T shirts & whatnot...but go to a predominantly Latino or Black spot they have the dumbest rules. No T shirt but you can rock a V neck...No boots but you can not rock themPolo Rangers... like really? C'mon son.

There has to be something wrong with him mentally. One of myboys who had an incident with him said he saw him walking around NYC at 2pm in the afternoon with the hat on and they recognized and stonefaced eachother.

my dude has that look like he's about to teleport and then electrocute someone.

About that list I posted...originally, the club in question was attached to a 24-hour sporting/fitness complex (with a rollerskating rink in there for no goodreason). Half the dudes would walk in the front door with gym bags, the other with button-down shirts and wingtips. Figure that one out.

And yes, they were mad salty when it came to letting black folks in the club. Realistically, it didn't matter how you dressed--you just weren't gettingin.

Eventually, they moved across the street. And yes, they're still mad.

All this hoopla about Continental? That place is crap. I peed there once, and not in the bathroom.

This happens all the time. If you are from So Cal that is famous for that its the muse in pasadena. Man I never get in that club and they dont even use a dresscode they just say guest list only. Its funny because my homie who is asian got in I went to park the car and they told me guest list only the bald hispanichow weird
Continental's "General Vibe" Doesn't Include Black People
Laney went out for drinks after work with some co-workers. He changed out of his uniform, but they wore theirs. Soon after the group entered, Laney was asked to leave, ostensibly due to a dress code violation...but it became clear his outfit wasn't the problem.

He posted about the experience on a Liveournal community. Here's an excerpt:
The doorman lets us in, we haven't ordered a drink yet. A group of friends call me in need of directions, so I leave so that I can speak to him on my cell phone. And then on the way back in the owner sees me, and tells the doorman I'm not allowed in.
"I'm sorry," the doorman tells me. "My boss said I made a bad call letting you in."

"What do you mean?"

"We have a dress code here. You have a sideways cap and baggy shorts."

At this point, I understand how clubs do what they can to control the climate at places. The rules against baseball caps and sneakers, etc. are generally to keep out a crowd they don't want. Most recently, as I waited to meet people for a newyorkers meetup that no one attended, I was told by a doorman that I could wear my cap forward or backward, not sideways, and I did so accordingly. I have no problem with rules. So I compromise and respond: "Where is your dress code written? I can remove the cap and I have a change of clothes inside."

"We can't do it. It's about a general vibe."

My eyes are fighting not to roll out of their sockets at this point. I tell the doorman I am going in to get my things. As I go inside to grab my bag and my friends, the owner GRABS me and asks me "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to get my things."

"You wait here. I'll get your friends and your things. You don't run this place."

What. The. !#!+?

My friends were both White. They apparently were wearing trendy "East Village" attire that consisted of Black jeans that stained of spilled mayo and black shirts with a patch that indicated that they worked at a restaurant that can be found in Times Square. The owner had nothing against what they were wearing, but when I repeated that I had that same exact uniform and could change into it, he repeated: "It's about the vibe. We have a regular clientele here. Once you're out, you're out. There are thousands of clubs in New York City"

As I waited on the sidelines boiling about this, I saw two other black men get ejected, one being in the group of my friends that came to meet us there. Unlike myself, he wore his complete work uniform. No cap, no sneakers, no "baggy pants." He wasn't allowed in and when asked why, the doorman gave no real reason.

A quick glance at their Web site shows signs of trouble. Check out number 7 on their "Top 10 Reasons to Drink at Continental":
7) At Continental "The Customer's always WRONG" Trigger

That's nice.

right tho!

There is only one club I been denied from getting into(Necto in Ann Arbor)....them doormen stay hatin
grin.gif

The bars/clubs/lounges in Miami are notorious for this.

Most of the spots on So. beach are like this but there are plenty in Las Olas and other areas.

Passions at the Hard Rock is the worst! They try to keep Black folk out of there at any cost.
My homeboy is Chinese Jamaican but looks Hispanic, he thought he could slide in there cuz hes
light skinned and he had a Hispanic girl with him. I told him dont even try fool, they are not letting
Black folks in there, even if you look Hispanic. He didnt belive me! Got to the door and they told him
he had on the wrong shoes and to get out of line. My son had on a casual boat shoe. 2 white dudes behind him had on sneakers and
I sat there and watched them get let right in. Its terrible out here..thats why I stay in Pangaea
and Iguanas cuz they dont trip.

Its an area down here in SC called 'Five Points' that is just ridiculous.
Yea there's a bar here in Charleston like that too. They say no dreads, grills, or chains. To make matters worse, it's always crappy lil places that smell like fox piss but for some reason keep a good crowd
ohwell.gif
That's where the racists like to gather.

I never really had problems getting into crappy bars, But I think that's cause my boy is white (and so is his friend that tags along).

They just mad cause I took durr jubs.
