NT what up,
So I just started a course on mythology at college and of course we have a research paper due at the end of term. I immediately thought about researching the use of references to classical mythology in hip-hop. Unfortunately I'm stuck on only a few examples:
-Medusa's head on Versace turned me to stone- Jay on "In my Lifetime Remix"
- This pimp is at the top of Mt. Olympus, ready for the world games this is my olympics- Yeezy on "Gorgeous"
- The sword of Damocles and other imagery in Kanye's "Power" vid.
I know some more exceptionally cocky and intelligent artists have to make references to these myths but i need help uncovering them. I'm sure some are pretty obvious and I'll be Greek god damned is someone like Nas doesnt have a few. Anyway throw some out there, doesn't matter how shallow or obscure. I just need more examples to work with. Any help is appreciated.
